Fantastic Vintage Ports at Pre Arrival Prices

All Direct from the Symington Estates Oporto Cellars

After many delays our shipment of Vintage Port direct from the cellars of the Symington Estates is on the way.

The Symington Family are the owners of many of the biggest names in Port including Cockburn, Dow, Gould Campbell, Graham, Martinez, Quarles Harris, Smith Woodhouse, Quinta do Vesuvio and Warre.

5 Ports 2 Our original offer of over 100 different Vintage Ports has shrunk to just under 40 as many wines from our shipment have already sold out.

However, we stocked up on numerous top wines when ordering so you will find many great wines in the current mix.

There is also a small selection of half bottles and quite a few hard-to-find magnums for special occasions.

All of these wines have been sourced direct from the estates and as they have rested in the cellars for up to forty years they are in pristine condition.
Wines still available go back to the glorious 1970 vintage. You will find identical vintages to compare between shippers, or you have the rare opportunity to assemble verticals from a single producer. The one key feature is that all of the wines have been perfectly cellared.

If you are a lover of Vintage Port I urge you to take a good look at this serious offering before it is all gone. Considering the perfect provenance of the wines we think the prices are very reasonable. You can buy thirty year old vintage ports, right in their drinking window, for the price of the current vintage. You don't have to cellar the wines to enjoy them at their best and you don't have to suffer the risks of purchasing at auction.

We offer all of the wines at Pre Arrival Prices which, as usual, represent a saving of around 15% on the landed prices.

You can view all of the wines and order on line by clicking here.

We also accept orders by email to or telephone (03) 9326 5737.

Need some advice or recommendations? GIve us a call or send an email and I will gladly assemble a mixed case of two of these interesting Vintage Ports to suit your needs.

Rare Sauternes from World War II!

Rayne-Vigneau 1943 Header

70 Years Old!

And still going strong!

Some time ago I purchased an original case of 1943 Chateau Rayne-Vigneau Sauternes.

I had forgotten about them until recently when someone mentioned that they are now 70 years old!

Rayne-Vigneau 1943

I have enjoyed this wine on several occasions and am pleased to report that it is in incredible condition. The high sugar content no doubt responsible for the longevity.

Colour is deep gold (not brown). The nose and palate was reminiscent of of Tarte Tartin. There is apple, caramel and spice. Even a bit of cream! Plenty of attack and a fine, long finish. The wine was sweet but not cloying and the sugars not cracked and harsh.

You are drinking history here!

The bottles themselves are in lovely condition with fills just below the neck!

When you consider France was under German occupation, and producing wine was very tough, it was a monumental effort. Michael Broadbent, in his Great Wine Book describes 1943 as "The best wartime vintage".

For a wine that is nearly 70 years old that we know is drinking very well I think our price  is great value.

$795.00 a bottle

This is a rare treat for the aged wine lover.
