Romanee-St-Vivant Grand Cru 2009
Special Today $335.75
An absolute bargain for RSV!
Medium dark. Nose of plum, blueberry, spice, rose and violets: fragrant and quite feminine. The palate is similar; supple with an appealing level of ripeness and juicy extract on the mid palate. Complex and refined. Not a heavy weight but expressive with lovely aromatics and a fine, long finish. For all this the wine is quite tightly wound and one senses that with more time it will really blossom.
Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2009
Special Today $212.50
Burghound: A notably reserved but also notably ripe nose of red berry fruit liqueur notes gracefully introduces rich, round and impressively scaled broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in an explosive, linear, impressively complex and gorgeously persistent finish. This is a big wine with borderline chewy tannins that provide plenty of grip and punch. In a word, impressive. 94 Points
