Last 4 Seats to our Melbourne Albert Bichot Burgundy Dinner

Melbourne Bichot Burgundy Dinner

Last 4 seats at our Melbourne Burgundy Dinner next Tuesday....

Few Burgundy producers have experienced a meteoric rise to the uppers echelons like Albert Bichot. What was once a negociant business is now a collective of owned and independently run domaines producing wines from the best vineyards in the Cote d'Or, Chablis and further afield. The negociant side of the business still exists and Bichot is the major player at the Hospices de Beaune Auction each November.

Their wines and winemakers have been lavishly rewarded in recent years including Red Winemaker of the Year in 2004 and White Wine Maker of the Year in 2011 at the International Wine Challenge.

This Dinner features 12 wines from 2007 to 2010. The wines come from across the Bichot portfolio and eight of the wines are Grand Crus.

We'll start with a trio of Chablis including the 2008 and 2010 Moutonne Grand Cru Monopole. Thence a Pair of Corton-Charlemagne from the brilliant 2007 and 2010 vintages.

Two brackets of reds will follow. Firstly a group of four that match the Masterclass wines, then the three serious Grand Crus.

This lineup will allow us to compare vintages, and at the same taste some different cuvees including the Grand Crus Bonnes-Mares, Charmes-Chambertin and Chambertin.
