"...any Burgundy lover who manages to secure some of the domaine's 2010s is going to be very happy that they did!" John Gilman, A View from the Cellar on Antonin Guyon
We have 2009 and 2010 Cortons and more at very enticing prices!
Domaine Guyon commenced in 1960 when Antonin purchased parcels of vines from Gevrey-Chambertin in the north to Meursault in the south. Over the years the holdings have been expanded and today Domaine Guyon produces wines from 15 different appellations in some of Burgundies best communes. The domaine is now almost 50 hectares in size with magnificent 18th century cellars in Savigny-les-Beaune.
The wines are reviewed by both the English and French wine writers. Great reviews are enjoyed from all the major French publications and John Gilman (A View from the Cellar) and Burghound also rate the wines of Domaine Antonin Guyon highly. For this offer we have concentrated on the tasting notes from Gilman and Burghound. I particularly like the descriptive notes from John Gilman, you really get the feeling he has tasted and considered the wines carefully. He is a great source of independent opinion that all Burgundy lovers should add to their list of must-read reviewers.
The wines are on the way so time is running out to buy at Pre Arrival Prices and save yourself 15%.
To whet your appetite, another great Corton Grand Cru from Burgundy's most improved appellation....
2010 Corton Clos du Roy Grand Cru
Pre Arrival Price $122.50
Perhaps the greatest vineyard in Corton producing masculine and age-worthy wines. In recent years Corton has been "singing" and is (for the moment at least) tremendous value!
John Gilman: The 2010 Clos du Roy is not quite as generous in personality as the Bressandes, as the wine is decidedly more hunkered down at the present time behind its structural elements. But the depth, purity and precision on both the nose and palate promise a longand fine life for this wine, once it blossoms. The bouquet is a complex and reserved mélange of red and black cherries, hints of currant, gamebirds, iron-laced stoniness, coffee, woodsmoke and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully transparent, with a properly reserved profile, fine mid-palate depth, ripe, substantial tannins and outstanding length and grip on the very, very long and soil-driven finish. This will be excellent. 94+ Points
