The Domaine Comte Senard is run by Lorraine Senard and her father Philippe. The Domaine is famous for extensive vineyard holdings in the Cote de Beaune with the highlight being a large, and interesting, selection of Corton Grand Cru Reds. The holdings include the famous Clos du Roi and Bressandes, a most unusual and rare Red Corton produced from within the white-producing Charlemagne area and the 2 hectare monopole Clos des Meix.

The domaine also produces Corton-Charlemagne and an impressive Corton Blanc Grand Cru. They are great to compare. And then there is the unusual Aloxe Corton Blanc made from Pinot Gris!

Senard Roi LabelThe style of Corton has been changing. The once tough and unyielding wines have given way to more fruit-driven wines that are more approachable young and are, quite frankly, better drinking. Senard's style combines the traditional with the modern. Whole bunches are used for aromatic complexity and the wines are intense and powerful with a classic, but fine, tannin and acid spine. The wines display the best of new winemaking with old world understanding. Burghound has described Senard's Corton Clos du Roi as"breathtakingly good".

We offer all the 2011 wines at Pre Arrival Prices. They will save you 15% on the regular landed costs.
