Albert Bichot Puligny-Montrachet
1er Cru Champ Gain 2018
Landed Price $295.95
Pre Arrival Price $250.50

A brand new cuvee. Champ Gain is high on the slope - some 360 metres above sea level. The thin soil produces a wine of elegance with fine acidity and a mineral tang. What Puligny is all about!
The nose is both fruity and mineral, combining pleasing fresh mentholated notes and scents of nuts (mainly
almond). The palate offers remarkable suppleness and lovely length with notes of fresh fruit and a spicy
finish. This is a well-balanced wine that boasts elegance and power.
James Suckling Tasting Report
Very intense, linear white with apple, mango and pie-crust character to the crushed stones. It’s full -bodied with a compact palate that is tightened down, providing presence and focus. Energy, too. Serious white. Drinkable now, but better after 2021. 94 Points

Restrained on the nose with a flinty edge. Creme brulee and coconut notes in the flavour. Incredible grip, poise and elegance. 95 Points and Gold Medal
James Suckling Tasting Report
Like the poise and tension to this with sliced cooked apples, hints of vanilla and pie crust. It’s medium-bodied with beautiful depth and tension and nicely oaked undertones that give complexity and focus to the fruit. Drink or hold. 94 Points

Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
More depth of aroma here, riper citrus fruit but with energy too. Hmm, that’s fine – its mouth-filling but very open slightly spiced complexity here. Melting over the palate, a grain of tannin always present. It’s a great year for Charmes I think and here is a slightly different interpretation – super wine – probably carafe to get the best from this. As a minimum, excellent!

A subtle nose on this wine offers hints of corn husk and buttermilk, with a slight edge of lemon. The palate comes in with gentle freshness and a smooth, bright texture that seems bedded on soft chalkiness. It shows wonderful understatement, paying tribute to finesse rather than power. Drink by 2035. 93 Points

The World of Fine Wine
The nose is bright and appley, precise and poised. The fresh attack contributes more tension than most wines in this vintage, and there is fine acidity, force and persistence, and a toasty finish. 93 Points

1er Cru Vide Bourse 2018
Landed Price $347.50
Pre Arrival Price $295.50

Vide Bourse is a contination of the Grand Cru Batard-Montrachet. Many describe it as a 'petit Batard'. The soil is heavy and full of stones which provide raciness to this powerful Premier Cru. The first time we have offered the Bichot bottling.

Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Cold butter, toasted hazelnut, yeast and chalk meet on the nose of this wine to create a gentle, seductive scent. The palate retains this elegance with its detailed texture that gives a velvety feel to the medium body. Freshness supports, with a lemony gentleness. The wine is gentle but also precise. Drink by 2035. 93 Points
Domaine du Pavillon Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Clos des Marechaudes Monopole 2018
Landed Price $165.00
Pre Arrival Price $139.95
Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
A touch of vanilla with a hint of dill gives aromatic spin to cherry notes on the nose of this wine. The palate has a juicy core that is vibrant with ripe but tart red-cherry fruit. All this happens on a concentrated body where fine tannins weave a filigree structure. This wine is assertive and elegant in equal measure. 92 Points
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
A more powerful nose, some floral aspects too – nicely presented. Nice drive and energy but a rather wide presentation too – not so sweet either for an Aloxe in 2018. Fine finishing – delicious.
Albert Bichot Fixin 1er Cru Clos de la Perriere Monopole 2018
Landed Price $164.95
Pre Arrival Price $139.50

Clos de la Perriere is regarded as a Fixin's best vineyard. It was cited by Julien in 1811 as being the equal of Chambertin and Corton and heralded by Lavalle in 1855 as a Tete de Cuvee. Many years ago the vineyard was unsuccessfully proposed for elevation to Grand Cru status. Bichot says "The "Manoir de la Perrière" was built in the 12th century by the Monks of Cîteaux, who have been the first to detect the potential of this 5-hectare (12 acres) clos. There is no Grand Cru in Fixin, yet, thanks to its exceptional climate and its ideal exposure, it has already been compared to its neighbour, the Chambertin! Indeed, it has a south-east exposure, at an altitude of 350 to 380 meters, and its calcareous soil is homogenous."

2020 Decanter World Wine Awards
Graceful white pepper over mouthwatering black and red fruits with a focused backbone of mineral freshness and a vibrance of acidity, topped off with classy grip of firm tannins and a long, profound finish.

Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Cherry and fresh cream mix with woodsmoke on the aromatic nose of this wine. The palate continues in this creamy vein, presenting dense, ripe cherry fruit on a finely textured palate pervaded by freshness. This gives the cherry notes an alluring Morello aspect, adding to the rich but toned verve of this wine. 94 Points

The toasty gloss of oak surrounds cherry notes on this wine's nose. Cherry becomes rounder, riper and more luscious on the palate, meeting the richness of the oak. Underneath it all, freshness highlights the red streaks of cherry while fine tannins lend a graceful structure. 94 Points

International Wine Challenge 2020: Gorgeous pure fruit - lovely blueberry and raspberry flavours on an elegant rosehip nose. Soft and gentle tannins. Subtle and pleasing, lovely elegance and poise. 95 Points and Gold Medal
Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Ripe, dark cherry can just about be made out on the nose of this wine, but it seems distant. On the palate, the full, sumptuous purity and freshness of the fruit come to the fore. Nothing is overdrawn, all is harmonious. Silky tannins accentuate the sinuous depth of the fruit while subtle freshness highlights the pristine, elegant fruit. Lovely now, the wine is certain to evolve. Drink 2025–2035. 94 Points
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
Hmm, that’s a fine, open, fresh and complex nose – faintly spiced complexity – a great invitation. Round, supple, a lovely fresh and wide wave of flavour flowing over the palate. Lovely texture too. Wide finishing – classy, delicious wine! Bravo
Domaine du Chateau Gris Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Chateau Gris Monopole 2018
Landed Price $199.95
Pre Arrival Price $169.95
Chateau Gris is a unique property in Nuits-St-Georges. It lies within the Premier Cru Les Crots at the northern end of the vineyard below the village. The Chateau Gris castle was built in the 18th century in the middle of its 3.5 ha (8.6 acre) walled vineyard. After the vineyards were destroyed by phylloxera, the roof of the castle was covered with grey slate although tiles are the traditional material used in Burgundy. The people of Nuits-Saint-Georges therefore began to refer to it as Chateau Gris (grey castle) and the name stuck. Further to a court ruling in the 1920s, the name “Chateau Gris” was allowed to prevail over the name of the place (lieu-dit) "Les Crots" where the vines are planted.

Michael Apstein, winereviewonline.com
The 1er cru vineyard, Château Gris, takes its name from the 19th century castle the Earl of Lupé-Cholet built on the site after phylloxera destroyed the vines. Instead of the usual multi-colored tiles of Burgundian roofs, it had only slate tiles, giving arise to the nickname of Gris (grey). This monopole, owned by Bichot since 1978, covers 8.5 acres and is planted with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but only the red wine from the site is classified as 1er cru. The 2018 is positively stunning. Far more elegant than you’d expect from Nuits-St. Georges, it still conveys a touch of wildness for which the appellation is known. Long and finesse-filled, it dances on the palate. Chauvel believes that the terraced rows at different elevations in the vineyard allows for varying levels of ripeness of the grapes, imparting freshness to the wine. That likely explains its bright finish, which amplifies the wine’s charms. 95 Points

Château Gris is a special site in Nuits-St-Georges, perched in the hills above the town and producing both a white and red of some distinction. This floral, aromatic, 25% whole bunch-fermented Premier Cru is closer to a Beaune red in style, with sappy minerality, fine tannins and flavours of red cherry, pomegranate and aromatic spices underpinned by acidity. 94 Points

Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Smoke and a toasty glint of oak heighten the cherry notions of this wine with their aroma. The palate also uses oak to frame the fruit, which is juicy, ripe and rounded but vividly fresh. A firm yet pliable frame of ripe tannins assures this wine's structured future. The wine strikes a lovely balance and the finish reunites resonant notions of cherry, smoke and oak. 94 Points
Albert Bichot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers 2018
Landed Price $265.00
Pre Arrival Price $225.00

First vintage. Les Sentiers lies immediately below the Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares. A good contrast with Bichot's other Chambolle 1er Crus Les Amoureuses and Les Chabiots which lie at the opposite end of the commune.
Aged 14 months in barrel with 50% new oak. This Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru boasts a sophisticated nose that is redolent of ripe cherry. A highly aromatic wine with intense, generous flavours and excellent cellaring potential.

The shy nose of this wine only reveals tentative notes of tart red fruit backed by a little oaky toastiness. The palate comes in with density, a tight, fine tannic web that accentuates the sinuous curve of the wine. Notes of ripe red cherry with purity and brightness makes this wine elegant and suave. 94 Points
