Another great review - 94-95 Points from James Suckling MW
Second shipment arriving soon

Les Malconsorts is an exceptional 1er Cru. Being located alongside La Tache and less than 400 metres from Romanee-Conti it comes as no surprise. Domaine du Clos Frantin owns a substantial 1.76 ha parcel with a vine age of around 40 years. Jasper Morris MW says "Aux Malconsorts was first taken out of scrubland and planted with vines in 1610, relatively late for this part of the Cote. Nonetheless it is an exceptional vineyard, one of my three favourite premier crus along with Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses and Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St-Jacques."
It is one of our best selling wines every year.

James Suckling MW:
Beautiful crushed roses with an array of fresh raspberries and red cherries, as well as light mocha and oak spices in the background. The palate has excellent tannin maturity and depth. A bold, explosive finish. This is exceptional. This elegant vintage has delivered a wine with real clarity and detail. But still needs some time. Try from 2024. 94-95 Points

Tim Atkin MW: The Bichot holdings run to 1.75 hectares and cover both the upper and lower parts of the Premier Cru. This is a sturdy, almost austere expression of the site with serious tannins, dense, chewy black fruits and a touch of mint. Very well made, but needs considerable time in bottle. 2028-38. 94 Points

Jasper Morris MW:
Significantly rich deep purple. A wonderful richness of flavour sweeps across the palate. It is still held in check a bit by the wood. A solid, rich, firm wine at the finish, with impressive density. 94 Points
Burghound:
(from a whopping 1.75 ha parcel). A relatively deeply pitched nose offers plenty of both floral and spice elements along with notes of plum, dark cherry and a touch of Asian-style tea. As is usually the case there is excellent volume and a taut muscularity to the sappy broad-shouldered flavors that flash superb depth and persistence. Note well though that this classic example is definitely built-to-age and is going to need at least most of a decade to be approachable. Recommended. SWEET SPOT WINE 2031+. 92-94 Points

Frantin Echezeaux
Domaine du Clos Frantin Echezeaux Grand Cru 2016
5 bottles left
Tim Atkin MW: Every bit as good as the 2015 bottling, albeit one produced in rather more testing conditions, this comes from the Champs Traversins climat in the upper part of the Grand Cru. Yields were down to 25 hectolitres per hectare and this is correspondingly concentrated, with plenty of sweet berry fruit, a touch of good reduction and very promising length. Just needs time. 2024-32. 96 Points
Wine Spectator:
This red exudes rose, sandalwood, salty licorice and beryy aromas and flavours. Tightly would and dense with tannins, though this starts out with silky texture. Compact finish. Best from 2021 through 2036. 94 Points
Landed Price $525.00
Pre Arrival Price $446.00

Bichot Amoureuses Label

Albert Bichot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses 2016
1 bottle left
Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is one of Burgundy's most desirable wines. Despite being a Premier Cru its magnificent aroma and complex, silky palate make a wine of reverence.

Bichot typically make just a single barrel (280-300 bottles) of this wine so it is certainly on the Rare list in any vintage!

The Albert Bichot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru  Les Amoureuses also won a Gold Medal and Trophy for the Best Chambolle-Musigny at the International Wine Challenge 2017.
Tim Atkin MW:
In one sense, this is barely a négociant wine since the grapes are purchased from Alain Serveau, Bichot's long-term winemaker. It's a wonderful expression of this famous Grand Cru in all but name, with some whole bunch sap, lacy tannins, and the kind of sweet, succulent berry fruit that drives Pinotphiles wild. 2022-30. 96 Points

Landed Price $765.00
Pre Arrival Price $649.95
