Domaine Jomain 2017 Pre Arrival Offer

Jomain 2017 PA Header
New 2017's from Domaine Jomain

A true family enterprise, brothers Philippe and Christophe Jomain, along with sister Catherine, launched this Chardonnay focused Côte de Beaune domaine in 1992 with vineyards left to them by their father, Marc. With precious parcels in four of Puligny's premier crus and 0.35 ha of hallowed ground in the Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet, Domaine Jomain consistently produces a line of classically elegant white Burgundies.
The 2017 vintage saw the full range of cuvees produced and we are delighted to present them all including Batard-Montrachet and the trio of Puligny-Montrachet 1er Crus.
Domaine Jomain is featured in Bill Nanson's The Finest Wines of Burgundy along with Leflaive, Leroy, Roulot etc. As you can see their prices are somewhat different. (How about Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles for $169.95?)

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles 2017
Landed Price $199.95
Pre Arrival Price $169.95
Jomain Pucelles Label
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report": Hmm - a lovely volume of fresh aroma. Extra volume again and a weight of flavour too. Layers of flavour here - plenty of energy yet still a more contemplative wine. Beautiful pure citrus in the middle and finish. A wine of purity and fine flavour and good length. Also a great price for a Pucelles - a value Pucelles if that makes any sense at all!
Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combottes 2017
Landed Price $199.95
Pre Arrival Price $169.95

Jomain Combettes Label
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report": A more fruited-freshness to this nose. More volume in the mouth - but open and accessible - slowly melting with flavour, ooh - I like this finish very much. Muscular but not harsh, melting flavour. Excellent!

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrieres 2017
Landed Price $178.95
Pre Arrival Price $151.95

Jomain Perrieres label
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report": Hmm - a nice, mineral aroma infused with citrus - really inviting. Hmm, good volume, more density here, not overtly rich, really concentrated but with meltingly accessible flavours. Hmm - excellent - a wide minerality in the finish that remains absolutely tasty. Excellent - I can still taste it 3-4 minutes later while waiting for Philippe to find the next bottle!

Fougeray Dinner Ocha 159

Fougeray de Beauclair Winemaker Dinner at Ocha
Selling Fast!
Demand for this dinner has been terrific.
Fortunately Ocha is large enough for us to double our seating.
If you want to come along don't wait until the last minute.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome Domaine Fougeray de Beauclair winemaker Laurence Ollivier (nee Fougeray) back to Australia. Laurence works with her husband Patrice Ollivier to produce a range of wines from some very interesting vineyards in the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits.

"Most famous for their Bonnes-Mares and their 'Clos Marion', the family business of Domaine Fougeray de Beauclair was founded about 1979 when Jean-Louis Fougeray, the father of the current owners, a man who by day worked in administration and by night tending his vines, made his very first cuvée. It was from a quarter hectare of Marsannay vines - in the family since 1972 - this was the start for Domaine Fougeray." The Burgundy Report

Today, the domaine is somewhat larger and continues to expand its holdings with new acquisitions.

The Domaine has very kindly supplied a wonderful selection of wines for a dinner. In fact we have so many we had to come up with a novel idea for this event.

So what we are going to do is a little tasting before the main dinner. That will provide the opportunity to meet Laurence and taste some of the new 2017's which were bottled just in time to ship to us.
Date: Thursday 2 May 2019
Time: 7pm
Venue: Ocha, 3-5 Church St, Hawthorn, 3122
Cost: $159.00
