Chartron 2017 PA Header
White Burgundy at its finest!

Those of you who are keen followers will have witnessed the rise of Domaine Chartron to the point now that more often than not it outscores Domaine Leflaive. And Chartron is considerably more affordable!, not to mewntion easier to buy.

Interestingly 2017 marks the centenary of the acquisition of the domaine's three monopoles.

Today we present the 2017's with new scores from Steen Ohman - winehog.org. And great scores they are too!

All wines are offered at a 15% Pre Arrival Discount. Quantities remaining of some wine are very small indeed.

Here are 4 of the top wines....

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos du Cailleret Blanc Monopole 2017
Landed Price $244.50
Pre Arrival Price $207.95
17 bottles left

Chartron Caillerets Label NV
Steen Ohman Winehog.org: The Clos du Caillerets is one of the signature wines of Chartron. Chartron was previously by far the largest owner of Cailleret with 3.33 ha in total. Inheritance tax forced Chartron to sell some of the vinyards, and they now remain with a bit more than 1 ha (1.0354 ha) - the northern end of the vineyard called Clos du Caillerets - surrounded by very tall stone walls. The oldest part of Clos du Caillerets is from 1955/56. This a truly magnificent - deep and mineral - notes of anise and fennel (classic Caillerets) creamy generosity on the mid-palate. A very refined and elegant 1er cru - one of my favorite vineyards in the Puligny appellation. 94-95 Points

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Pucelle Monopole 2017
Landed Price $244.50
Pre Arrival Price $207.95
37 bottles left

Chartron Pucelles Label NV
Steen Ohman Winehog.org: The second centenaire cuvée is the Clos de la Pucelle a Clos located in the northern end of Pucelle - also around 1 ha, with the oldest part planted in 1953/54. This is also a very elegant cuvée - tremendous purity and with a lovely floral element - Classic Pucelles .. long, intense and filigree - what a lovely wine - matching the Caillerets. 93-95 Points

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2017
Landed Price $494.50
Pre Arrival Price $420.50
17 bottles left

Chartron Corton Label Steen Ohman Winehog.org: The Corton Charlie is intense, long and quite tightly knit. The nose offer quite exotic white orchard fruits - cool yet with a nice genrosity. Lovely chalky minerality - fine balancing acidity - quite filigree and vivid. An impressive Charlie in the making.
 93-94 Points

Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2017
Landed Price $765.00
Pre Arrival Price $650.00
Only 2 bottles left!

Chartron Batard Label Steen Ohman Winehog.org: The Batard-Montrachet is from the middle lower part of the vineyard - just on the border between Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet - but as the estate located in Puligny. The nose is airy and vivid - notes of apple, peach and almonds. Fine hint of citrus infused minerality .. lovely depth and complexity - although not rivalling the magnificent Chevalier-Montrachet. An intense yet refined Batard in my view - the 2017s are truly delightful when harvested in time.
 94-95 Points
