Two Burgundy Dinners in Melbourne

Two Burgundy Dinner Header
A Burgundy lovers dream!
The end of October is going to be a busy time for Burgundy lovers. Quite a few Burgundians will be in Australia for the Grand Tasting Bourgogne-Jura Meet the Makers.

Two of our suppliers have asked me to arrange dinners for our clients whilst they are in Melbourne so we have two dinners at the end of this month on consecutive evenings!

The good news is that the wines we be serving are quite different and present a great opportunity to try either the 2016 vintage or a selection of aged Burgundies. Both events promise to be enormous fun with our French hosts.

There are only 24 seats available for each dinner so don't delay.

Not everyone in Burgundy does things the same way. In the past the domaines, negociants and wholesalers held stocks of aged wines to supply the trade. However, financial pressures have seen this service all but disappear.
However, there still remains a small band of Burgundians who do base at least part of their business on aged wines. Prestige des Grands Vins de France are one such business. Patricia Corcia, the General Manager, will be in Australia at the end of October and will host a dinner featuring a selection of wines from their portfolio.
The wines will span 4 decades with the youngest being from 2017 and the oldest from 1976. All have come direct from the domaines.
This is a great opportunity to sample some aged bottles including three Grand Cru Reds.

Join Vincent Delcher, Export Manager for Bourgogne de Vigne et Verre, for a dinner and tasting of Burgundies focusing on the new 2016 vintage.

Vincent has hosted several dinners in Australia with us in the past and has always been a great ambassador for the wines of Burgundy.

The dinner will feature 13 wines from the BVV portfolio including 10 wines from the new 2016 vintage. We'll include 3 bottles of 2015 as a comparison.

The 2016 vintage is simply gorgeous. The wines are full of fruit, with moderate alcohol and lovely freshness. It is a classic vintage in the best sense. If you have not tasted the wines this dinner presents the perfect opportunity.

Five makers will be featured and we will finish off with a bracket including three highly rated Grand Crus.
