Louis Latour Corton 3 2015 header
3 Grand Crus from the Great 2015 Vintage. All under $200 a bottle

Some years ago we imported a parcel of 1999 and 2002 Corton Reds from Louis Latour. They were a sellout success and I didn't manage to keep any for myself. However, over the last twelve months several friends have served the wines to me and I have been delighted at just how well they have aged. With fifteen or so years in the bottle they have softened and developed into surprisingly elegant wines of classical style. Simply delicious!

Today we offer a selection of three different 2015 Grand Cru Corton from Louis Latour. From the reviews I doubt that Latour has ever made a range of Corton this good. Latour have Perrieres plus Clos de la Vigne au Saint, a 2.46 hectare climat they share with Domaine Belland, and their special bottling Chateau Corton Grancey. This wine, named after the last owners of the Corton chateau before the Latour family purchased it in 1891, is a blend from the climats Les Bressandes, Les Perrieres, Les Greves and Clos du Roi. It is only produced in top vintages.

We offer all three wines at a Pre Arrival Discount of 25%. These highly rated Grand Crus are cheaper than many Premier Crus.

Latour Corton SaintWine Spectator: A concentrated core of pure cherry, raspberry and spice flavors highlights this intense red. Mineral and leafy tobacco elements add depth as this unfolds, while a firm, dusty matrix of tannins provides grip. Stays vibrant and long, with a terrific aftertaste of fruit, spice and mineral. Best from 2021 through 2040. 95 Points

Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
A wide, dark-fruited nose, complex dark fruits, almost gelée. Super in the mouth despite modest volume, but not modest intensity - waves of flavour, with a little tannin. A hint of licorice in the finish perhaps. This has great potential!

Corton Perrieres Grand Cru 2015
Landed Price $252.00
Pre Arrival Price $189.00

Latour Corton Perrieres
Wine Spectator:
Bright cherry, black currant, blueberry and spice flavors ply this dense, juicy red. There is also a firm, tannic side that will need time to integrate. With air, more fruit emerges and the tannins are tamed somewhat. Offers a long, firm finish. Best from 2021 through 2038. 94 Points
James Suckling Tasting ReportThe ripe fruit is evident on the nose with complex cinnamon and nutmeg notes. Medium to full body and gorgeous depth of fruit that finishes soft and classy. Savory. Give it three to four years but already a joy to taste. 95 Points

Latour Les Demoiselles Header
Louis Latour Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Grand Cru 2016
Last 2 bottles
There is no better white wine in the world than Chevalier-Montrachet. Most white Burgundy aficionados prefer it to the more highly priced Montrachet as Chevalier has more minerality and line.

Chevalier-Montrachet lies up-slope from Montrachet where it is slightly cooler. Here the topsoil is thinner and stonier due to the steeper slope. The bedrock is also different as there is a geological fault line between the two vineyards. The bedrock in Chevalier contains more limestone and is similar to the Cote de Nuits. These features combine to create the much-loved minerality of Chevalier-Montrachet.

In 1913 Louis Latour purchased a 0.51 hectare parcel at the northern end of the appellation. This parcel has the sobriquet Les Demoiselles in honour of the 19th century owners Mademoiselles Adeles and Julie Voillot, the daughters of a Beaune General who died without marrying.
James Suckling Tasting Report:
Compacted and powerful yet always in finesse and beauty. Great transparency. Full-bodied, tight and focused with lemongrass, stone, dried lemons and green apples. Excellent length. Drink a couple of years after release and beyond. 97-98 Points

Landed Price $799.95
Pre Arrival Price $599.95
