Terrific Wines of Yesteryear

Direct from the Burgundy cellars of Pierre Bouree

Pierre Bouree was founded in 1864. Their cellars contain a vast array of aged wines that they release from time to time.

Last trip to Burgundy I selected four interesting wines going back to 1959. The wines will arrive in Australia in less than two weeks so we present this final opportunity to buy at Pre Arrival Prices.
These wines have remained undisturbed in the cellars since bottling. Quantities available are small.

Bouree_rsv_bottle 1959 Clos Vougeot

The Durand Corkscrew

Just the thing for opening these old bottles!

"The Durand is a newly patented device that is amazingly effective in removing older and fragile wine bottle corks whole and undamaged. Designed by a prominent wine collector, and named for a mentor and world renowned sommelier, it has been repeatedly tested on the most challenging corks. It has worked without fail. As with other wine lovers, you too will value a Durand whenever opening your most treasured older wines."
The Durand consists of two parts. The traditional corkscrew holds the cork. The Ah-so like prongs break the seal and when they are rotated together the cork almost always comes out in one piece.
We have found the Durand terrific for old and frail corks. It works particularly well on Vintage Port where the unusual taper of the neck makes removal difficult.
More info on the Durand can be read on our website. Click here to view and order on line.
