Remy Grand Cru Header
Aged Grand Crus direct from the domaine at outstanding prices
Almost Gone!
We had a great response to yesterday's offer for aged Grand Cru Reds from Domaine Louis Remy. We don't have a lot left. If you were thinking about picking up some of these great value for money wines please act quickly.

John Gilman, A View from the Cellar "I had been mistakenly under the impression that the Domaine Louis Remy had ceased to
exist when Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy had purchased the lion's share of their vineyards and cellar stocks of older vintages in 1989. But apparently, Madame Chantal Remy had kept a slice
of a few vineyards and the rights to the name of the estate....Like a few of the old school holdouts in the Burgundy firmament of today, Madame Remy holds back her wines until they have had several years of bottle age in her cellars prior to releasing them into the
market..... From what I understand, Madame Chantal Remy retained one third of the family's vineyard parcels in the immediate aftermath of the sale to Madame Bize-Leroy."

"The Remy wines are made quite traditionally, with only one third new oak utilized for the grand crus, less for the two premier crus and the wines bottled by gravity two years after the harvest, with no fining or filtration. These are very much old school Burgundies that recall a bit the style of Jacky Truchot's wines in his heyday- decidedly lighter in color that most, delicate and perfumed, with lovely soil signatures, very good intensity of flavor and fine balances for further cellaring."

Remy Chantal There are always some great discoveries to be had in Burgundy and today I am pleased to present four Grand Crus from Domaine Louis Remy. These wines have come straight from the domaine where they have rested for a decade.

Apart from the age what makes these wines particularly attractive are the prices. They are very reasonable indeed.

A great opportunity to add a few perfectly aged Grand Crus to your cellar. All wines are offered with a 25% Pre Arrival Discount. You can buy aged Grand Crus at prices that are similar to new release Premier Crus!

Remy Clos de la RocheThe domaine had a 0.40 hectare parcel of Clos de la Roche at this. Most of the vineyard holding was sold of to Domaine Leroy. It would be great to compare styles from the same vineyard!
Jancis Robinson:
So rich and flattering and gorgeous it would be insulting to spit this! Long and seductive - coo-er! This should have an X certificate. 18.5/20

Domaine Louis Remy Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 2001
Landed Price $267.00
Pre Arrival Price $199.95

Remy Latricieres-Chambertin
John Gilman, A View from the Cellar:
Not surprisingly, the 2001 Latricières-Chambertin from Domaine Remy offers up just a bit more signature of soil and a bit more mid-palate amplitude than the lovely 2002 version. The bouquet is a complex and maturing mélange of red and black cherries, coffee, mustard seed, gamebirds, sous bois and deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and blossoming beautifully at age ten, with a good core, modest tannins and fine focus and grip
on the long and poised finish. Good juice. 2011-2040. 92+ Points
Domaine Louis Remy Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 2008

Remy Latricieres-Chambertin From the domaine's 0.40 hectare parcel of Latricieres-Chambertin. Much of this vineyard holding is now in the hands of Domaine Leroy.

Jancis Robinson: Racy and lively and transparent. Drier than the Clos de Roche (2008). Very appetising. Racy and solid. And the price is not totally silly. (Drink between 2013-2022).

Domaine Louis Remy Chambertin
Grand Cru 2007
Landed Price $559.95
Pre Arrival Price $419.95

Remy Chambertin
Domaine Louis Remy had a tiny 0.14 hectare parcel of Chambertin, now the property of Domaine Leroy.

Stephen Brook, The World of Fine Wine: Firm, ripe nose that has some grandeur, weight, and minerality. Rich, textured, plenty of ripe tannins, and certainly concentrated. There is nothing forced about this, yet it has weight, spice, and persistence. 18 - Overall score 18/20

Pousse d'Or Bousse d'Or
Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Bousse d'Or 2015

The Clos de la Bousse d'Or has a long and esteemed history. It originally belonged to the Dukes of Burgundy and was first mentioned in the will of Hughes IV in 1272. It then passed to the crown of France and then lordship of Beaune before being sequestered during the French Revolution. Interestingly, one 19th century owner was Jacques-Marie Duvault Blochet, famous proprietor of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti.
The 2.14 hectare vineyard has been very highly regarded for centuries. It is a monopole of the Domaine de la Pousse d'Or who at times have defied the authorities and labeled it Clos de la Pousse d'Or.
Jasper Morris MW says it "can be one of Volnay's most striking wines".

Burghound: Moderate amounts of wood and menthol elements frame the prominently ripe aromas of black pinot fruit liqueur aromas that are trimmed in an abundance of pretty spice nuances. The opulently, even lavishly rich medium weight flavors saturate the palate with sappy dry extract which also serves to buffer the more evidently mineral-inflected finish that is both firm and youthfully austere. Patience definitely required here. 91-94 Points
Jancis Robinson: Not yet bottled. Monopole. Darker fruit than the Ouvrées. More rounded, alto, and yet there's a greater tension running through the Bousse d'Or. Holds a purity, a long line, like a singer holding a
long, unwavering note. Purity on the finish. A kind of verticality - flavours that plunge instead of spreading. (TC) (Drink between 2021-2028). 17/20
