Pol Roger Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill 2004
$329.00 a Bottle

Pol Roger Winston Churchill label 2 Decanter Magazine: Dense grilled nuts nose, backward and youthful, and shows aromatic depth at the expense of immediate charm. The palate is rich, broad, and weighty, very concentrated, achieving a majestic style that's biscuitty and powerful. Although accessible now it will certainly improve with more bottle age that will allow the flavours to unfurl. Long.

Tyson Stelzer:
The blend of Sir Winston Churchill is a closely guarded secret. I ask d'Harcourt every time we taste a new vintage. 'I have not been drunk enough yet to tell you!' he replies. I'll keep working on it. Elusive details aside, Sir Winston steps up with a characterful presence in the powerful 2006 season, with pinot noir commanding a confident lead in spicy fig, mirabelle plum and red apple fruit, intricately toned by the bright lemon, grapefruit and crunchy pear of chardonnay. With time in the glass, a gorgeous presence of red cherry fruit rises and sweeps in a captivating display of youthful fruit integrity. Time moves slowly in Pol Roger's deep, cold cellars, and the tell-tale signs of maturity in nutmeg and almond are but fleeting glimpses, its age declared more dramatically in gorgeously seamless and silky texture. The signature, salty chalk minerality of the greatest crus of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims lays out a finish of outstanding line and enduring length, with a bright acid line that defines the finesse of the house and promises medium-term potential. A highlight of the season.

Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs 2009
$158.50 a Bottle

Pol Roger BdB Label
Tyson Stelzer: For a house once led by pinot noir, Pol Roger is increasingly focusing on chardonnay in its vintage wines, and recent vintages of its Blanc de Blancs demonstrate why. The power and precision of the grand crus of the northern Côte des Blancs coalesce in the rich 2009 harvest to produce a beautifully refined blanc de blancs that captures the finesse and fragrant delicacy of Pol Roger. Dainty lemon and grapefruit lead out, backed by the understated succulence of white peach and the crunch of nashi pear in a long-lingering palate of bright acid line and frothing salt minerality. Almost a decade of lees age has begun to build a creamy texture and lingering, understated complexity of nutmeg, almond nougat and honey. It propagates with great persistence, sustained by the bright acidity of Pol Roger, even in such a warm vintage. A triumph of the season, and the vintage to drink over the next five years as we eagerly await the awakening of the sublime 200895 Points

Pol Roger Rose 2008
$158.50 a Bottle

Pol Roger Rose Label Tyson Stelzer: A medium- to full-salmon hue heralds an expressive and characterful rosé of beautifully defined red and black cherries, blackberries, pink pepper, tamarillos and even a hint of pipe smoke. Pinot noir takes a confident lead, contributing elegant fragrance and succulent flesh and body within the strict and consummately controlled mood of Pol Roger. The fine chalk minerality of the great crus of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims draws out a long and refined finish, well supported by ultra-fine, impeccably handled tannins. A rosé of character and finesse, it looks smarter than ever in its new mushroom-purple livery. 95 Points

Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2008
$139.95 a Bottle
$292.00 a MAGNUM

Pol Brut Vintage Label Tyson Stelzer: Pol Roger's vintage cuvées have long been highlights among the cuvées I most often recommend to friends, and I have many vintages from the past 25 years tucked into my cellar. I have long awaited the dawning of the release of the sensational 2008, a season I adore more than any other in recent history for its poise and energy. Pol Roger has done a fiendishly tactical thing, and while the recipe for this cuvée is always 60/40 pinot/chardonnay, it appears to have deployed pinot noir of particular presence and depth to rise to the tension of chardonnay in this electric season. The result is quite something to behold, with a profound core of the most sublime black cherries and black plums, intricately refined with exacting Pol Roger precision, energised by the lively acid line of 2008 and stirred vigorously by the brilliant chalk mineral structure of magnificently placed crus. In the slow-motion evolution of Pol Roger, age has brought just subtle nuances of biscuits and spice. It will age confidently, but it's irresistible from the outset. Do not miss this vintage. It's a revelation.95 Points

Pol Roger Brut NV label Tyson Stelzer: Pol Roger's infamous 'White Foil' is an attractive and refreshing apéritif, and the 2009 base has transcended its season and delivered the freshest, purest expression of this cuvée I can remember - the ultimate validation of 15 years of winery upgrades. On first release, it sang with all the youthful jubilation of lemon zest, crunchy apple and pear, harmonising with finely honed chalk minerality. Now, towards the end of its release, it is still every bit as impressive, showing its maturity in toasted marshmallow, wild honey and nutmeg flavours and a creamy mouthfeel. The new-found palate line and persistence in this cuvée is singly the most laudable achievement of the new Pol Roger. 94 Points

Mosse Rivesaltes

83 Years Old and Going Strong!
Chateau Mosse Rivesaltes 1935

The ability of Rivesaltes to age is legendary! This gem is over 80 years of age and still going strong.

A rare experience at a very reasonable price!

Wine Advocate - Neal Martin: Chateau Mosse was sold last year, the last vintage produced being the 2013, although Philippe Gayral mentioned that there are still a few wines that he might still be able to purchase. Then they'll be no more. The 1935 Rivesaltes has a lucid amber color. The nose is resinous with beeswax, smoked walnut and raisin - much more Madeira-like in style for a Rivesaltes compared to the younger vintages from Sesqueille. The palate is well balanced, smooth and harmonious: nutmeg, walnut, red peppercorns and raisin with a very understated and yet intense finish. It is almost easy to miss the charms of this nigh 80-year old Rivesaltes: nuanced and effortless like a vintage Bentley.

Guigal Doriane Label

Domaine Etienne Guigal Condrieu La Doriane 2015

Almost perfect Viognier!

Wine Advocate - Jeb Dunnuck: Easily one of the greatest Condrieu I've ever tasted is the 2015 Condrieu La Doriane. A wine that needs to be tasted to be believed, it possesses a huge nose of toasted brioche, liquid rocks, apricot, flower oil and salty minerality. Unctuous, full-bodied, massively rich, yet also elegant and graceful, with beautiful freshness, enjoy this tour de force over the coming 5-6 years. 99 Points
