My visit to Domaine Jomain early last year was my first. Located in Puligny-Montrachet, the domaine has a raft of fine Premier Crus and the Grand Cru Batard-Montrachet.
However is was their Bourgogne Blanc that that made me raise my eyebrows. It was simply stunning.
Jomain's Bourgogne comes from vines in Puligny-Montrachet and it displayed every character you associate with the wines of Puilgny - flowers, citrus and a stony minerality. I thought it was a villages Puligny.
Unfortunately, they were just teasing as the 2015 had sold out.
The good news is that we have secured an allocation of the new and equally stunning 2016. 2016 is considered more classic in style and having tasted the wine on my October visit to France I can highly recommend it.
Domaine Jomain is featured in Bill Nanson's The Finest Wines of Burgundy along with Leflaive, Leroy, Roulot etc. As you can see their prices are somewhat different.
If you have a love of White Burgundy (Puligny-Montrachet in particular) and don't wish to spend a fortune this is a great wine. You get all the Puligny character at a fraction of the price.
We offer the wine at our usual 15% Pre Arrival Discount which we increase to 20% for unbroken cases of 12 bottles. That make this little stunner just $37.20 a bottle!
Get you order in quickly to take advantage of our Pre Arrival Prices. The wines has arrived in Australia and will be unpacked this week.

Jomain Bourgogne Label Darren Harris:  Bourgogne Chardonnay is an unusual beast. In the last few days I have tasted bottlings from Marsannay in the north to Mercurey in the south and numerous in between. None come within a bull's roar of Domaine Jomain's. Why? Location. Jomain's Bourgone comes from vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet. There can be no better place to produce Chardonnay.

The Jomains have several parcels blended to produce this bottling. The wine is made 1/2 in barrel, 1/2 in cask. 20% new oak is used.

Bright nose of lemon and other citrus, spice, minerals and a little toasty oak. Very Puligny-Montrachet with cold white stones. It is bright and fresh. Lively and persistent on the palate.

I raved about the 2015 (which was sold out by the time I "discovered" the domaine) but I think the 2016, with its cooler vintage conditions is even better. This is a super bottle of White Burgundy and I believe it is superior to many Premier Crus. I was fortunate to secure a good allocation which is already half gone. Stunning quality for the price.

Jomain Perrieres 2014 134 header

Super 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrieres
A bargain!
Premier Cru Puligny-Montrachet is not getting any cheaper!
But here is a great bargain for you from the exceptional white vintage of 2014.
Darren Harris: 6 barrels in 2014. There are numerous Perrieres vineyards in Burgundy and they always indicate the presence of stone - in this case from the remnants of old quarries. The stone always ensures a mineral complexity. Very pure and mineral on the nose. Citrus, flowers and cold, white stones. There is a beautiful elegance combined with piercing Puligny freshness. A real dancer on the palate. Saline, racy and long and I have to say delicious. Classic Puligny-Montrachet and such good value.

Bill Nanson on Domaine Jomain: The wine I would search out, however, is Les Perrieres - a wine of outstanding intensity, where the terroir doesn't have a particularly obvious mark, and yet it combines finesse and minerality.

Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report": Also more floral but this time a wider and more elegant nose. Weight of flavour here, it saturates the palate - there is also minerality too. On the other hand here is richness and less energy, yet the acidity slowly shines through. More contemplative wine, but one that I would be happy to wait for...
Normally $157.95
Special this week $134.25
