Domaine Michel Mallard covers 13 hectares and 16 appellations, mainly around the Corton hill. It was founded by Michel Mallard's grandfather, also named Michel Mallard, in 1952. The domaine is located along the D974 that runs straight through Ladoix-Serrigny. In recent years the cellars has been renovated and enlarged. The whole process is now done by the use of gravity; there is no pumping of the wine.
The wine portfolio of Domaine Michel Mallard ranges from the basics such as Bourgogne Aligoté and Bourgogne Blanc up to the four Cortons - Les Renardes, Le Rognet, Les Marechaudes and Corton-Charlemagne.
The wines are unashamedly made for cellaring. To support this ideology the domaine holds back releases to allow the wines some time in bottle. At the moment the current vintage is 2013. The 2014's are not due for release until 2018!

I tasted the Corton Grand Crus at the Grand Jours de Bourgogne last year and was knocked out by the power, intensity and character of the reds. The three vineyard holdings - Les Renardes, Le Rognet and Les Marechaudes provide plenty of contrast with one thing in common - a yearning for some time in the cellar. The presentation is also superb - big heavy bottles with very stylish embossed labels.
These are serious Cortons, dark and deep. Burghound uses the words "classic", "very serious", and "requires plenty of patience" to describe these wines.
To welcome the new year we have a VERY SPECIAL deal on the last bottles in stock. We have priced them to sell at HALF PRICE!
Here is what is still available - first-in, first-served:

If you buy Burgundy for extended ageing these wines are just the thing. The three vineyards provide a wonderful contrast and the super range of vintages variety that is hard to find these days. I highly recommend them.
