A terrific domaine in Puligny-Montrachet with super wines at excellent prices
Domaine Jomain is small - just 8 hectares - but they have some prime appellations in Puligny-Montrachet.

My first visit was early this year and I managed to secure some 2014 and 2015 wines. Amongst these was their classic Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrieres 2014.

2014 has been hailed as one of the great White Burgundy vintages and there are few wines still available. describes it as Extraordinary - Classic and very delicate wines - Highly recommended.

If you love Puligny-Montrachet here is a opportunity to top up on a seriously good wine at an excellent price.

For the next few days you can buy the wine at a 15% discount.

Jomain Perrieres label
Bill Nanson on Domaine Jomain: The wine I would search out, however, is Les Perrieres - a wine of outstanding intensity, where the terroir doesn't have a particularly obvious mark, and yet it combines finesse and minerality.

Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report":
Also more floral but this time a wider and more elegant nose. Weight of flavour here, it saturates the palate - there is also minerality too. On the other hand here is richness and less energy, yet the acidity slowly shines through. More contemplative wine, but one that I would be happy to wait for...

Darren Harris: 6 barrels in 2014. There are numerous Perrieres vineyards in Burgundy and they always indicate the presence of stone - in this case from the remnants of old quarries. The stone always ensures a mineral complexity. Very pure and mineral on the nose. Citrus, flowers and cold, white stones. There is a beautiful elegance combined with piercing Puligny freshness. A real dancer on the palate. Saline, racy and long and I have to say delicious. Classic Puligny-Montrachet and such good value.

Moine-Hudelot Amoureuses
Rare Aged Bottles of 1999 and 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses
4 of each available
Domaine Moine-Hudelot was a 6.80 hectare estate in Chambolle-Musigny. Daniel Moine, the owner, was the mayor of the village and lived in a house overlooking the vineyard of Les Feusselottes. The family owned some tremendous vineyards including 0.12 ha of Musigny, 0.32 ha of Bonnes-Mares and 0.20 ha of Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses.
However, as is the case with many Burgundy domaines taxes became an issue and Daniel, upon retirement, was forced to sell the vineyard holdings. The Musigny went to Leroy, and the Bonnes-Mares and Les Amoureuses to Pousse d'Or. Today, Domaine Moine-Hudelot no longer exists.
Today, I have the big daddies - the 1999 and 2005 - arguably the greatest vintages of the last 50 years. Both bottles have come direct from the domaine's reserve stocks.
Jasper Morris MW says
"So often is this vineyard just referred to as Amoureuses that one might think it is a grand cru....When young it is almost ludicrously charming, yet it does not age quickly. Christophe Roumier served a bottle blind on one occasion - obviously Amoureuses in character, and clearly a great vintage, beginning to get into its stride yet with no undue signs of maturity. I was very confident with my guess of 1978, but it proved to be 1945." Clive Coates said of the domaine
"(Moine-Hudelot) produces round, fragrant elegant wines, at the top levels of high quality."
Les Amoureuses in hard to find at any time and to obtain aged bottles in superb condition from magnificent vintages is an opportunity not to be missed.

Both the 1999 and 2005 are available at $495.00 a bottle
