Solitude Tradition Label Wine Advocate:
Domaine de la Solitude turned in a top performance with its 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape. It shows hints of toasted almond or marzipan on the nose, ripe cherries and hints of stone fruit, and while it's richly tannic, the tannins are ripe and velvety. It should drink well for 15+ years. 93 Points

Solitude Barberini Label
Wine Spectator:
This drips with raspberry, cassis and plum fruit flavors, with a remarkably silky feel throughout. Alluring black tea and incense notes hang in the background, and there's an element of roasted apple wood as well. The fruit blazes through the finish. Best from 2020 through 2035. 95 Points
Cuvee Cornelia Constanza 2015
750ml Normal Price $175.50
Pre Arrival Price $148.95
1500ml MAGNUM Normal Price $348.50
Pre Arrival Price $296.50
Solitude Cornelia Constanza Label First produced in 2005 (which we consumed with Florent Lancon over dinner during my last visit. It was fresh and gorgeous).
Wine Spectator: This has great energy from the start, with notes of bay leaf, warm brick and juniper leading the way, backed by a solid core of red currant, raspberry and plum coulis flavors. The long finish lets sanguine and iron accents flow through while still leaving plenty of room for the fruit. Best from 2020 through 2035. 96 Points

Cuvee Reserve Secrete 2015
750ml Normal Price $287.50
Pre Arrival Price $244.50
1500ml MAGNUM Normal Price $572.50
Pre Arrival Price $486.50

Solitude Secrete Label
First produced in 2000. A blend of Grenache and Syrah.

Wine Spectator: This is packed with dark plum, blackberry and boysenberry preserve flavors at the core, enlivened with juniper, tobacco and licorice snap notes. Lovely roasted apple wood accents score the finish, with the fruit taking a long encore. Best from 2020 through 2035. 96 Points

Wine Advocate:
The top wine at Solitude is the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reserve Secrete, a 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah, 60% of which was matured in new oak. Virtually none of the oak is apparent on the nose, which features peppery-herbal and bright cherry notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, creamy and lush, with ripe cherries and berries that glide to a long, silky finish that turns slightly chocolaty at the very end. While approachable now, this wine should be able to go a couple of decades. 95 Points
