Outstanding 2015 Burgundy from Dominique Laurent. Huge scores from Tanzer

Laurent 2015 header
Huge reviews!

Dominique Laurent hit the wine world with an almighty bang in the late 1980's. His first vintage was 1988 and his reputation rapidly grew for expensive, handcrafted red Burgundy.

Laurent sourced grapes from very old vineyards and used not one new barrel, but two for the elevage of his top cuvees. This generated some controversy at the time. Laurent has since gone on to establish his own cooperage to ensure his barrels have the fine quality he desires. A decade ago he backed off on the oak and now uses a single new barrel. His "magic barrels", a name given by Jasper Morris MW, are now seen in some of the finest cellars of Burgundy.

laurent bonnes-mares The 2015's from Laurent have received outstanding reviews from Stephen Tanzer of Vinous Media. There are numerous wines with scores of 93-95, 94-97 and even 95-97. And the wines are more reasonably priced compared to the market average than they were in the early 2000's. In fact, some of the wines look to be downright cheap for the scores. There are also some magnums - great to put away from such a fine vintage as 2015.
The wines are not on our website but we do have a PDF list of available wines and their Vinous Media scores. If you would the reviews please contact Asaf and he will email you the details.
