Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Noirots 2014
Normal Price $128.95
Special $109.50
33 bottles left

Roblot-marchand Noirots label
Les Noirots lies alongside Les Gruenchers, a stone's throw from Bonnes-Mares. It is a small vineyard of just 2.84 hectares and like the vineyards in this section of the commune it shares the power and richness of Bonnes-Mares whilst remaining very much a Chambolle wine.

Darren Harris: A nose of dark fruit, restrained spice and earthy minerals. Finely structured with dark cherry, violets. Concentrated but not heavy. Layered palate with more savoury minerals rising on the finish. A mini Bonnes-Mares comes to mind with its restrained, brooding power and underlying muscularity.

Gevrey-Chambertin La Croix des Champs 2015
Normal Price $92.95
Special $78.95
29 bottles left

Roblot-Marchand Croix Champs label
Darren Harris: Les Croix des Champs is located on the eastern side of the D974. More weight and power than the Chambolle-Musigny Les Pas de Chats and a different aromatic profile with mineral and earth in addition to the red-black fruits. The palate is racy and fresh with good intensity and fine acidity adding to the finish. I like the vibrancy very much. This too is very representative of its village and a great comparsion with the Chambolle.

Roblot-Marchand Pas Chats Label
Darren Harris: A delightful name, Les Pas de Chats (the cat's footfall) is located across the road from the Premier Cru Les Feusselottes. Roblot-Marchand are the only domaine to bottle this wine. Red colour. Vibrant nose of red fruits, violets, spice and tea - unmistakedly Chambolle-Musigny. Medium weight palate with plenty of verve. Balanced flavours of red berries, spice and florals. Lovely purity and a fine finish. Classic Chambolle-Musigny and a delicious bottle of wine.

Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
The only pas de chat that I know.
Red, floral, tighter aromatic width. Fresh, narrower, linear, a growing and melting flavour with a hint more intensity. Perhaps minerality. Slowly growing. Yum, saline, mineral, delicious wine!

Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuees 2015
Normal Price $141.50
Special $119.95
27 bottles left

Roblot-marchand Fuees label Darren Harris: Medium colour, palish at the centre. Elegant aromas of raspberry, strawberry, marzipan, bitter cherry, minerals. Complex. Fresh. It is very sleek and elegant but oh, so long. A dancer. Classic Chambolle femininity in the middle but finishing with the structure of a serious vintage. Benchmark Chambolle and I love it!
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report":  Pretty and high-toned floral aromas. Tighter, linear, more a growing insinuation of flavour, more finishing concentration. Mouth-wateringly long! Good but a wine to wait for - it's not fully open as tasty as it is!

Bouley Santenots 2015 Header
Domaine Pascal Bouley Volnay 1er Cru Santenots 2015. Entire Production 80 Magnums
10 Left
Save $133.95
Hail hit some of the vineyards of Volnay hard in 2015 and the losses were significant. Domaine Pascal Bouley suffered enormously. When the grapes in the their Santenots vineyard were crushed there was just enough for half a barrel. A crazy 150-160 bottles.

But the fruit was spectacular in true Santenots style. It was dark, deep and concentrated with a wonderful spine so the Bouley's made a serious decision. They decided to bottle the entire production in MAGNUM.

Instead of the usual 1000 or so bottles from a regular vintage in 2015 there are 80 Magnums. Full stop. For the entire world. 36 of these made their way to Australia.

Those of you who drink Volnay regularly will know that Santenots is one of the top Premier Cru vineyards. Jasper Morris MW says "This has always been a highly-reputed site amongst the Volnay premier crus, rated as Tete de Cuvee by both Lavalle and Rodier - though the wines really need to age to show their merit."
"There is noticeably more clay in the soil in Les Santenots than for most of Volnay, giving wines of full body and rich texture, though without the tannins of Pommard."
I'd like to draw your attention to the majesty of this wine with a very special offer. The normal price for this Magnum is $332.95. We have 10 left which I offer at the attention grabbing price of $199.00. That's a 38% savings. Magnums were designed for extended ageing and this wine doesn't ask for it - it demands it! So If you have the patience and love serious Burgundy I urge you to grab a magnum or two. It will be at its peak between 2027 and 2037.
Darren Harris: Extraordinarily saturated purple-black colour. Bright. Alive! Lifted nose of dark fruit, currants, spice and some new oak. Flowery notes linger in the background. Dense and muscular with an intensity seldom seen. There are minerals on the palate and a suave, silky mouthfeel culminating with defined tannins. This is a powerful, complex Volnay built to age. The choice to bottle the entire production in magnums (80 for the world) is certainly justified. Patience will be required to see this wine at its peak.
