"The tiny Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles is both very rare and potentially of exceptional quality, so highly sought-after." Jasper Morris

Les Demoiselles is a 0.6 hectare white vineyard immediately to the right (north) of Montrachet. Here there are just three owners. Jasper Morris MW says "The tiny Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles is both very rare and potentially of exceptional quality, so highly sought-after."

It is notably stony with a little more topsoil than Chevalier-Montrachet above. Indeed part of the vineyard owned by the powerful negociants Jadot and Latour was reclassified as Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru in the late 1930's (today, they still use the name Les Demoiselles on their labels).

The Au Pied du Mont Chauve vines were originally owned by Bernard Colin and were purchased by the Picard family (owner of Au Pied du Mont Chauve and Chateau Chassagne-Montrachet) in 2007. Their parcel is in the prime location at the south end, right alongside Montrachet.

The domaine has one custom made 350 litre barrel to hold their entire production. That's 466 bottles for the world! This really is a special vineyard, not unlike Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Dent de Chien, except even harder to find. The location, rarity and quality justifies its premium over other Premier Crus.
The wine has arrived at our warehouse. To introduce the domaine to our portfolio we offer this rare wine at a 25% Discount - but only for the next week.

Darren Harris: Harvested early - 5 September. The 2015 is richer and more powerful on the nose than the 2014. The mid palate has higher glycerol and more texture. There is heaps of extract - Grand Cru weight. To be honest it doesn't remind me of any other Premier Cru - it has that pineapple character, which combined with multi layered complexity, immediately sends me 10 metres south to Montrachet. And more so than the higher acid 2014. The wine finishes long and fresh, surprisingly without oak influence (the domaine uses a specially made barrel for the vinification as the quantity produced is so small. It was not new in 2015). I was very impressed with all of the 2015 whites at this domaine but the wine that stands out, and even benefits from the character of the vintage, is Les Demoiselles.

Clerget Chambolle Charmes label
Domaine Christian Clerget Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes 2015
Only 12 bottles left
Les Charmes is frequently sited as the best Chambolle Premier Cru after Les Amoureuses.
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report":
One part of this cuvée is just across from Les Amoureuses, plus 3 other small parcels.
Bigger, but not simple and easy; there's a vibrancy and mineral aspect here, slowly adding a gorgeous florality too. Faint reduction, extra tannin, but no grain. Really super, then it narrows into a more mineral finale. A long narrow, persistent line of flavour. Delightful...

Burghound:
(from 4 parcels of 30+ year old vines aggregating 1 ha). A slightly riper yet still fresh nose offers up notes of cassis, black raspberry, lavender and a hint of sandalwood. There is a caressing mouth feel to the extract-rich medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate on the more obviously structured finale. This balanced effort is also a wine of refinement and is one that should drink well young but reward up to a decade of bottle age. 90-93 Points
