Jomain Perrieres label
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report": Also more floral but this time a wider and more elegant nose. Weight of flavour here, it saturates the palate - there is also minerality too. On the other hand here is richness and less energy, yet the acidity slowly shines through. More contemplative wine, but one that I would be happy to wait for...

Darren Harris: 6 barrels in 2014. There are numerous Perrieres vineyards in Burgundy and they always indicate the presence of stone - in this case from the remnants of old quarries. The stone always ensures a mineral complexity. Very pure and mineral on the nose. Citrus, flowers and cold, white stones. There is a beautiful elegance combined with piercing Puligny freshness. A real dancer on the palate. Saline, racy and long and I have to say delicious. Classic Puligny-Montrachet and such good value.

Domaine Jomain Puligny-Montrachet
1er Cru Les Combettes 2015
Landed Price $182.95
Special Pre Arrival Price $137.50 (Save 25%)

Jomain Combettes Label Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report": A nose to fall into; slightly cushioned by sweet oak, it's an inviting sweet yellow citrus too. Hmm... again slightly padded by oak, but just a really beautiful mouth-watering sweet acidity with flavours very much to the mineral side. There's a little richness here, but simply a gorgeousness too - bravo. Decadent drinking!

Darren Harris:Unmistakable Puligny nose of flowers, citrus, stonefruit and minerals. A little richer both on the nose and palate than the 2014 Perrieres tasted prior, but still with exceptional freshness and vivacity. Terrific intensity and mouthfeel, refined and palate coating, with vibrant fruit balanced by Puligny's inherent acidity.

Au Pied du Mont Chauve Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne 2014
Landed Price $173.95
Special Pre Arrival Price $130.50 (Save 25%)

Mont Chauve garenne label
Darren Harris:
From 70+ year old vines. Seven barrels in 2014. After the Chassagne Premier Crus this is a real change of pace. And for me a big step up in quality. Garrene is high on the hill. It is cooler here and it shows in the wine. Refined nose of white flowers, grapefruit and pear. The creamy richness of the old vines are balanced by minerals, citrus and a salty tang. I like the way the wine is concentrated but not heavy or too ripe. In fact you could call it restrained - the finish is long, fine and saline leaving the palate sensing a wine of freshness and elegance.

Jancis Robinson: On brown marl. Elegant white-fleshed stone fruit and very delicate, almost backward, floral aromas that I catch only now and then. Crisp, etched with a little citrus-pith bitterness, the core packed with sharp, crunchy chopped Bramley apple. Then the flavours intensify a little, just-ripe peach notes building towards an almost-savoury finish. 16.5+ Points

Au Pied du Mont Chauve Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St-Jean 2014
Landed Price $158.95
Special Pre Arrival Price $118.95 (Save 25%)

Mont Chauve Saint Jean Label Jancis Robinson:
On red sandstone. 10% new oak.
Slightly elusive, teasing nose that reminds me a little of acacia blossom so dry that rubs to yellow dust between the fingers. Real forward attack on the palate - everything gathered into a crossbow arrow of powerful flavour. Masses of mouthwatering acidity. Almost as if it was a glass of liquid lime-soaked white marble. Quite addictive!

Domaine du Pavillon Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes 2015

Decanter World Wine Awards
Creamy and elegant with floral and peach aromas and integrated oak of the highest quality. A serious style with a complex, elegant minerality and protracted, salty caramel finish, lively citrusy acidity the final phase of a very high quality chardonnay. 96 Points

Domaine du Pavillon Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2015
Landed Price $363.95
Pre Arrival Price $308.95
Only 10 bottles left

Decanter World Wine Awards: Opulent and serious with many layers and a brocade of apricot and peaches garnished with smoke and yoghurt; oak tannins, toast and smoke join on the sustained finish. A classy, superb food style. 95 Points

Tim Atkin MW: Picked comparatively early - Corton-Charlemagne can be a rich wine as it is - this is a very well judged expression of the Grand Cru, which has minimised the effect of the hot conditions. Zesty, leesy and sensitively oaked, with a lovely combination of power and focus. Balanced and long. 2018-25. 95 Points
