"Who could be better than Rousseau in 2012?" you ask incredulously.
I suspect few will answer: "Why, Domaine du Clos Frantin a.k.a. Albert Bichot," "but wow, this is just a stunning expression of Chambertin. And before you cart me off to the asylum, yes, it did garner the highest average score from the group of tasters and won by quite some distance. Everything you know is wrong, eh?" Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate 30 October 2015

Well that is a big call! Bichot Chambertin walloping Rousseau Chambertin!

But blind tastings have a habit of throwing up surprises. After all a glimpse at the label is worth a lifetime of experience.

So for those not caught up with stigma of the label today we have a wine to delight.

Bichot's 2012 Chambertin is a world-beater. At the 2012 "Burgfest" Burgundy tasting it universally defeated Rousseau's Chambertin. You can read the full article here.
Either way there is no question that both a great wines. The only difference is the price. The Rousseau sells for $1695.00 a Bottle. We offer the Bichot at $625.00 - that's over $1000.00 cheaper. Per Bottle.
We have 15 bottles left and the wine is now in the Australia. Order before Wednesday and take advantage of our 15% Pre Arrival Discount.

Bichot Chambertin Wine Advocate (at the Burgfest Tasting) - Neal Martin:
Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chambertin Grand Cru has a dense, fruit-driven bouquet that does not possess the detail of Rousseau's Chambertin 2012. Wild strawberry mingles with cranberry and dried orange peel notes that gain intensity in the glass, but not quite the precision. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, citrus fresh in the mouth with touches of blood orange. Perhaps the true quality of this wine is unveiled because it is far superior than the recalcitrant nose. There is a touch of bitterness on the finish, but that merely lends this Chambertin tension. Extraordinarily long and vital, this was one of the huge surprises of the blind tasting. 97 Points
Wine Advocate Burgfest tasting note for the 2012 Rousseau Chambertin:
Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chambertin Grand Cru has a touch of mint on the nose, complementing the mixture of red and black fruit, a pastille-like purity developing with time. This is very charming and the oak is neatly folded into the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, the acidity perfectly judged and lending the tension and poise one expects from a Chambertin. It does lose a little intensity in the glass but it's from such a high point it is neither here nor there. This is a wonderful Chambertin. 96 Points

There is no question that the Bichot Chambertin is wonderful wine at a very reasonable price in today's Burgundy world.
