Premier Crus around $55 a bottle
Grand Crus under $100 a bottle!
Dampt Frères began when Bernard, left the Chablisienne cooperative in 1981, looking to provide some guarantee of a future for his three sons; Hervé, Eric and Emmanuel. Today this domaine is the amalgamation of those three brothers and their families' holdings. Emmanuel explains that "The vines/domaines all have vaguely different ownership, but together cover about 90 hectares in total - there have been various iterations - but all is bottled here in Collan."

I tasted the domaine's lovely 2014's at the Grand Jours de Bourgogne last year. I was searching for Chablis with that saline, mineral character that distinguishes Chablis from the Cote d'Or. The Dampt wines had it in spades.

Dampt Bougros Label Our shipment came and completely sold out.

I am now pleased to offer their 2016's which are also seriously good and most attractively priced. All of the Premier Crus are $50.50 to $56.50 a bottle and the two Grand Crus are under $100.

The 2016's are not dissimilar to 2014 with fresh fruit and vibrant acidity. (2015's are riper and fuller).
