A Delicious Cotes-du-Rhone for an amazing $15.99 a bottle!
This extremely affordable Cotes-du-Rhone was my favoured wine from tastings of about 60 wines at Vinexpo Hong Kong in May and a large number of samples sent to Australia.
The Bernard family has lived in Orange since the 17th century. Originally tenant farmers, the Bernards were to profit from the social upheavals of the French Revolution, buying their first vineyard soon after the conflict in 1794. This vineyard is still in their hands today.
The 2011 Cotes-du-Rhone Grande Reserve was my pick from a large number of Cotes-du-Rhones. Not only is it a delicious wine but it is available at an enticing Pre Arrival Price. For a limited time you can order this wine Pre Arrival and save 20%. The wine is ready to ship and is anticipated to arrive late September.

Pre Arrival Price $15.99
Tasting note: Bright crimson-black colour. Fresh cherry, raspberry, violet and spice on the nose. On the palate the wine shows freshness with fine balance. There are dark and red fruits with a some spice, liquorice and garrigue. Medium weight, quite mineral and without any jammy notes. Subtely complex. Pure and clean. Nicely juicy, supple and very drinkable. I like this a lot for its balance and life. Everything is in the right place.
