DRC La Tache - is it the greatest wine in the world? Certainly many Burgundy drinkers would list it as their desert island wine.
Owned entirely by the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, La Tache is one of the most exhilarating of all Burgundies. It is a wine of complexity, nuance and spice that frequently exhibits the "peacock's tail" so desired in red Burgundy.
This dinner showcases La Tache and features ten consecutive vintages from 1999 to 2008.
The wines will accompanied by a matched 4-course meal. We will start with champagne, follow this with a bracket of Grand Cru White Burgundy, then the main event - 10 vintages of La Tache from 1999 to 2008. To finish, some aged vintage port.
