Classic Aged Burgundy Dinner Highline Header
Great vintages, serious vineyards...
It has been quite some time since our last Aged Burgundy Dinner. Having not long returned from France I can tell you that finding serious old bottles has become very difficult and prices have risen tremendously in the last few years.
I managed to purchase a few and combined a number of bottles already on hand I have the makings of a interesting dinner.
I have a new venue for this dinner - Highline at the Railway Hotel. I enjoyed two trial dinners there in the last six weeks. Chef Simon Tarlington is a disciple of Peter Gilmore of Quay in Sydney and has been rewarded with One Chef's Hat in The Age Good Food Guide 2017. You can read more here.

The dinner features some great wines from the 1960's - now more or less 50 years old. Our last Red is from the 1937 vintage - the best vintage of that decade and quite rare. A 62 year old Chateau d'Yquem and a single vintage colheita port from 1900 complete the evening's festivities.
This will be an exciting dinner and tasting for those curious about serious aged Burgundy.
