Bichot Malconsorts save 15 header
Vosne-Romanee's most powerful Premier Cru and always one of our most popular wines...

Les Malconsorts is an exceptional 1er Cru. Being located alongside La Tache and less than 400 metres from Romanee-Conti it comes as no surprise. Albert Bicot own a substantial 1.76 ha portion with a vine age of around 40 years. Jasper Morris MW says "Aux Malconsorts was first taken out of scrubland and planted with vines in 1610, relatively late for this part of the Cote. Nonetheless it is an exceptional vineyard, one of my three favourite premier crus along with Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses and Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St-Jacques."
It is one of our best selling wines every year.
We have the 2013 and 2014 from Bichot in stock. For today only we offer both wines at a 15% discount - the equivalent of our Pre Arrival Prices.
Note these are the same wines just with different Bichot labels.
Bichot Malconsorts 2013 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Malconsorts
Normal Price $295.00
Special $250.00

Decanter: Shy nose, with a modest but inviting spice - the first word that comes to mind is luxury. Then there's mouthwatering fruit, understated tannins and modestly vanilla-inflected barrel flavours. On the finish the tannin adds a salt-tinged texture but paired with beautiful complexity of fruit. Another lovely wine to wait patiently for. 95 Points

Tim Atkin MW: Bichot's holdings in this stellar Vosne Premier Cru are substantial at 1.75 hectares. And this wine doesn't suffer by comparison with those from its illustrious neighbouring producers. Sap, concentration, dense tannins and thick, smoky flavours: this is a wine that needs bottle age. 94 Points

Frantin Malconsorts Label 2014 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Malconsorts
Normal Price $289.00
Special $245.50
Decanter World Wine Awards 2016:
Delicate and intricate red fruit nose with subtle spice, floral notes and underlying earthiness and cedar oak. The palate is rich and concentrated with dark fruits and pronounced tannins but also extremely elegant. A wonderfully structured wine. 94 Points

Wine Advocate - Neal Martin: The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1Er Cru les Malconsorts has an elegant, refined bouquet with mineral-tinged red berry fruit, composed and a little backward but nicely focused. There is class here. The palate is supple on the entry with fine tannin, silky smooth in texture, very harmonious and nicely structured on the finish. This is a subtle Malconsorts, one that should not be underestimated92-94 Points

Tim Atkin MW: Bichot owns 1.75 out of a total of 6 hectares of Les Malconsorts, with parcels in both the high and low parts of the Premier Cru. Chewy, dense and quite backward, this has a hint of reduction in barrel, but should flourish in bottle. Textured, sweet and smoky with lots of dark, brooding fruit sweetness.
94 Points

Wine Enthusiast:
This is a rich, smoky and structured wine. Black fruit and dark tannins form a dense texture with touches of licorice, spice and dark concentration. The acidity hints at the vintage giving a touch of freshness and lift. Drink this powerful wine from 2024. 94 Points

Roty Prieur Label
Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur Bas 2012

Vinous, Stephen Tanzer:
Medium red. Musky aromas of maraschino cherry, red licorice and spices. Then sweet and stylish on the palate, offering a seamless texture and a touch of salinity to its lush red fruit flavors. Finishes with substantial but even tannins and very good salty persistence. I like this. (Drink between 2020-2029). 91 Points

Poggione Brunello 2011 Label
Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2011
9 bottles available
Robert Parkers's Wine Advocate: Il Poggione has done a terrific job with its 2011 Brunello di Montalcino. The wine is soft, yielding and charged with a velvety and smooth texture. It is deeply redolent of dark berry, black cherry, spice, leather and tobacco. The wine's sunny personality never feels flat or too dense. In fact, the wine offers a very tight and steely backbone that gives the wine stature and strength. This is one of my favorite Brunellos from the 2011 vintage. 94 Points
