Chambertin Grand Cru from 2014 for just $318.50 a Bottle?
Yes, your eyes are not playing tricks!

Late March is a great time to be tasting in Burgundy. At many domaines there is the opportunity to taste three vintages. The 2014's have been in bottle for long enough to have settled, some 2015's have been bottled but many are in tank awaiting the ideal time or still resting in barrel, and the 2016's are at various stages along the road to making another top vintage and are quite fascinating to taste.
With three fine vintages in a row there is much discussion about the havoc weather has played with volumes in recent years. Everyone has been affected to some degree, an unfortunate few to the point where they have zero production from some appellations.
And, of course, the other discussion is the relative merits of the three vintages 2014, 2015 and 2016. The 2016's are a little young for a a definitive opinion. So that leaves 2014 and 2015. 2015 is the red vintage that has received masses of praise from the critics. But if you question the winemakers about which vintage they prefer the majority will tell you 2014. I know, I have asked. Why? The winemakers see 2014 as a classic Burgundy vintage with spot-on ripeness, great freshness and wonderful typicity. The terroir shines through. 2015 is more seductive and less classic. The wines are still fresh and classy with great juice. It will drink better young, but still make old bones. It is all a matter of which you prefer. Some of both in the cellar is a great idea.
Our offer earlier this week for the Domaine Bertagna Clos St-Denis Grand Cru 2015 was enthusiastically received. I think today I go one better.
I have secured a parcel of their Chambertin Grand Cru from 2014.
Chambertin is one of the tetes of Burgundy alongside Musigny and the top Grand Crus of Vosne-Romanee. It is never cheap.
Until today.
Bertagna Chambertin Bottle I want to introduce "new" Domaine Bertagna to our portfolio with a bang so I have decided to offer this wine at an impossible-to-resist discounted price. The normal landed price will be $455.00 a bottle, in itself very reasonable for Chambertin. But for today I offer the 2014 Chambertin at a Pre Arrival Discount of 30%. That makes it just $318.50 a bottle. Be quick is all I can say!

Darren HarrisDeep red. Explosive aromatics. Minerals, spicy red fruits - currants, raspberry combined with cherry tartness. Longjing tea and earthy notes combine with smokey spice and a wild note to seduce the senses. Quality new oak is all but buried behind the opulent and powerful mid palate: very textured with a great sweetness of fruit that (at least initially) could be 2015. The fine tannins kick in towards the end to add line and drive. You could be forgiven for drinking this now but like all Chambertin it will surely close down and demand time in the cellar.

Frantin Echezeaux
Domaine du Clos Frantin Echezeaux Grand Cru 2015
One case left
Another 2015 that is all but gone.
Tim Atkin MW: The Bichot parcel is located in the Champs Traversins lieu-dit, where it is influenced by the proximity of the Combe d'Orveau. This is the best Clos Frantin Echézeaux I've ever tasted, achieving new levels of finesse and balance. Floral, bright and textured with very subtle oak.
