Treat yourself to a special aged bottle of Grand Cru Burgundy...
It is not often we can find Grand Cru Red Burgundy with 40+ years of age at much the same price as current releases.

Overnight we purchased a parcel of 1976 Clos de la Roche from Amiot-Bertrand. It can be hard to trace family trees through Burgundy but I am told the maker is related to The Amiots in Morey-St-Denis and Amiot-Servelle in Chambolle-Musigny.

1976 was a big powerful vintage with plenty of colour and stuffing. The tannins have ensured the wines have aged nicely and softened over the decades. From my experience 1976 is a vintage that matured beautifully with time and is now drinking very well.

Grand Crus like this that have been cellared in Burgundy all their life should be superb. Grab a bottle or two for a special occasion!
