There's nothing shabby about Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Chabiots!

Classic Chambolle-Musigny from a great site....

Adjoining Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses at its northern end, the 1er Cru Les Chabiots enjoys a a favoured situation. In fact many consider the vineyard a mini-Amoureuses with similar aromatic qualities and light-on-its-feet character.
"Chabiots" is thought to refer to the word "caboche", from the vulgar latin word Capum (head), due to the fact that rocks and stony blocks the size of a head, and weighing between 50 and 200 kg, were found at a depth of 40-60 cm when the soil here was ploughed for the planting of vines.
There are not a lot of makers and a quick glance at Burghound will confirm that Bichot are the premier maker with 6 of the top 7 wines.
Les Chabiots is around 1/3 of the price of Les Amoureuses. For lovers of complex, aromatic Chambolle-Musigny this is a wine to savour.

Located in the middle of the slope, close to Les Amoureuses, Les Chabiots is a comparatively little known Premier Cru. Less concentrated than its more famous neighbour, but this has some of the same perfume and balance. Floral, refreshing and fine. 2020-26. 94 Points
