More great Chablis from one of Tim Atkin's Top 25 Producers

Our 2014 Chablis from Domaine Long-Depaquit are enroute from France.

We now have pricing and some reviews for the 2015 vintage. 2015 is quite different to 2014. The acidity is not as high and the wines have more richness, yet still remain very transparent. It is another expression from the same vineyards - just what Burgundy is all about - and it has a different appeal. 2015's will drink earlier to 2014's which is not a bad thing.

Tim Atkin MW has published his 2015 Burgundy Report and he has given the 2015 Chablis from Domaine Long-Depaquit some glowing reviews. Unlike other reviewers Tim has tasted the finished wines from bottle and his critiques are tremendous.

Domaine Long-Depaquit are in his Top 25 producers and their best Grand Cru Chablis rate equal with such big name wines from the Cote d'Or as Bouchard Chevalier-Montrachet, Bouchard Montrachet, Carillon Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet, Leflaive Batard-Montrachet, Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles and many more. Guess which wines are the most affordable?

The message is grab some of these Chablis before they sell out. That will not take long!

The quality:price ratio is super.
Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru 2015
750ml Normally $147.95
Pre Arrival Price $125.50
Long-depaquir_clos_label Tim Atkin MW: This is almost as good as the 2014 bottling of Les Clos, which is some achievement given how different the vintages are. The Bichots' two parcels were picked at the same time and were entirely fermented in older oak. Almond paste and struck match notes are complemented by racy minerality, salinity and subtle oak. Shows the class of the terroir. 2018-25.
 96 Points

Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru 2015
750ml Normally $133.95
Pre Arrival Price $113.95
Long-Depaquit Preuses Label Tim Atkin MW: Always among the best and most consistent of the Chablis Grands Crus, Les Preuses is a wonderfully patrician vineyard. This 0.25-hectare parcel is situated just above La Moutonne and is entirely oak fermented. Smoky and intense, with a core of chalky acidity, it needs more time in bottle to integrate, but will age well. 2018-25.
95 Points
Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis Blanchots Grand Cru 2015
750ml Normally $133.95
Pre Arrival Price $113.95
Long-Depaquit Blanchots Label Tim Atkin MW: In a year when the picking season was unusual to say the least in Chablis, this vineyard was harvested first, when it's normally last. It was the right choice, because this is a typically restrained, patrician white from this east-facing Grand Cru. Focused, balanced and very long. 2018-25.
95 Points
Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis Moutonne Grand Cru 2015
750ml Normally $272.95
Pre Arrival Price $231.50

Moutonne Label Tim Atkin MW:
Richer, broader and denser than the 2014, which was one of the whites of the vintage, this so-called "eighth Grand Cru" (a blend of mostly Vaudésir with a little Preuses) is more Côte d'Or like in 2015, with toasty oak and more texture. It's only on the finish that the salinity kicks in. 2018-24. 96 Points

Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis Vaudesirs Grand Cru 2015
750ml Normally $147.95
Pre Arrival Price $125.50

Long-Depaquit Vaudesirs Tim Atkin MW:
The Bichot plantings are on the south-facing part of Vaudésirs, which ought to be bad news in a year like 2015. This may lack the focus and vivacity of the 2014, but it's still a very well judged wine with fine-grained oak and floral, pear and citrus fruit flavours. 2017-2295 Points
