Since the 2010 Bichot Lavaux St-Jacques won Decanter Magazine's Burgundy of the Year in 2014 this cuvee has gone from strength to strength.
Yet somehow we all missed the magnificent 2014 bottling.
Lavaux St-Jacques is located on the western side of the commune. It is a cooler site tucked towards the Combe de Lavaux right alongside, and on the same elevation, as Clos St-Jacques. The topography ensures a stream of fresh, cool air which translates into style and finesse. Jasper Morris says "Lavaux St-Jacques makes a fine-boned Gevrey with precision and elegance; much more a red-fruit wine than a dense dark Pinot."
I am a big fan of the vineyard and the quality and style it regularly delivers. The 2014 vintage of this wine slipped under our guard. But to make up for that we have a very special offer.
Instead of our usual 15% Pre Arrival Discount we offer this wine at a 25% discount. That makes it a most appealing $149.95 a Bottle! Not bad for a top Premier Cru from Gevrey-Chambertin.

Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report": Beautifully perfumed nose, exquisitely perfumed over deeper fruit. Large-scaled, faintly saline, a little tannin at the base but also supple, energetic and engagingly complex. What a lovely wine...Mouth watering, almost mouth staining flavour. A bigger, slightly broader wine than the Vosne (1er Cru Malconsorts), and today, maybe better!
