Meursault Les Narvaux 2013 from Latour-Giraud. What a Great Drink!

Latour-Giraud Narvaux 2013 Header
A delicious Meursault - powerful but with a wonderful acid spine...
Narvaux is located above the Premier Crus of Genevrieres and Poruzots. I have always thought it punched well above its weight and Latour-Giraud think so too opting to bottle their wine separately rather than blending it into the Cuvee Charles Maxime. Their wine comes from a 0.61 ha holding planted 55 years ago on the thin, poor soil and substratum of the site (great for minerality).

At its best Narvaux is mineral and saline and I think in Pierre's hands it is of Premier Cru quality. The 2013 is a simply terrific drink and until the end of the month we offer this wine at a 15% discount.

Latour Giraud Narvaux Label
Vinous Stephen Tanzer: (malo finished and sulfited): Bright medium yellow. Musky aromas and flavors of orange zest, lemon, quinine, ginger and minerals. At once dense and juicy, with a touch of spicy sweetness contributing lift in the mouth. Finishes dusty, thick and persistent, with a distinctly saline minerality. This wine is the highest in acidity of these 2013s, with 4.8 grams per liter, but it's nicely integrated. 90-92 Points

Darren Harris: Expressive nose of lemon, lime and pineapple. Zippy palate with white peach along with the citrus. Considerable weight and power finishing with a long, dry, tingling acid finish. A wine of substance and interest. This is outstanding for the appellation and would outperform many premier crus. Recommended.
