Weekend Special - Save 25%
The forefathers of Domaine de la Solitude came to France from Italy in 1264 to serve the Pope in Avignon. The connection with the church endured for centuries with two bishops and a pope in the family tree.

Today the estate has expanded to 38 hectares all, extremely unusually, as a single holding in the lieu-dit of La Solitude adjacent to the rocky plateau of La Crau.

We have the 2012 and 2013 Domaine de la Solitude Chateauneuf-du-Pape in stock and for this weekend we offer them at a 25% discount. You will need to act quickly as there are not many bottles left.

Solitude Tradition Label Wine Spectator:
Silky in feel and very long, with lovely raspberry and boysenberry coulis flavors that glide through, flecked with anise, rooibos tea and well-roasted sandalwood notes. The long finish lets everything drape gracefully. Very suave. Drink now through 2027. 92 Points

Vinous - Josh Raynolds: Full ruby. Ripe red and dark berry and vanilla scents show good energy and pick up a spicy nuance with air. Velvety and seamless on the palate, offering pliant black raspberry and cherry compote flavors plus a hint of candied flowers. Shows strong punch and cling on the smoke-accented finish, which is framed by gentle tannins that fade out quickly. 90 Points

Janasse's Top Cuvee. Save 30%!

Robert Parker: "This amazing effort transcends the vintage."
Domaine de la Janasse's top cuvee is their Vieilles Vignes from 60-100 year old vines.
We have 16 bottles of the highly rated 2011 in stock and for a limited time you can save 30%.
Jeb Dunnuck, The Rhone Report: Easily the most rich and concentrated, the 2011 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes might just be the wine of the vintage. A blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and the balance a mix of varieties, aged 25% in barrel (40% of which are new), it offers up aromas of blackberry liqueur, roasted meats, graphite, licorice, and wet stone-like minerality. Full-bodied, lavishly textured, fresh, and surprisingly structured, with big, mouth coating tannin and good acidity, it will be one of the few 2011s to require bottle age, as well as one of the longer-lived wines in the vintage. 93-96 Points
Normally $239.00
Special $165.00
