Drouhin-Laroze 2014 Header
A lovely selection of vineyards from Gevrey-Chambertin and beyond

Philippe Drouhin's grandparents were wise. Despite hard times in the wine business they made sure to invest in prime land on the Côte de Nuits. Thanks to them, 42 per cent of today's Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is grand cru vineyards, from Chambertin Clos de Bèze to Clos de Vougeot.

The beginnings of Domaine Drouhin-Laroze date back to 1850 when Jean-Baptiste Laroze purchased the first vines in Gevrey-Chambertin. In 1919 Suzanne, his granddaughter married Alexandre Drouhin who owned vines in Chambolle-Musigny and the Domaine Drouhin-Laroze was created.
Drouhin-Laroze family
Today, the sixth generation is in charge of 11.5 hectares of vines spread across some prestigious sites in the Cote de Nuits including the Grand Crus Chambertin Clos de Beze, Bonnes-Mares, Clos Vougeot, Latriceres-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. There are also some very handy Premier Crus from Gevrey-Chambertin.
Not only does the estate own some great vineyards but their wines are also very well priced in today's hot Burgundy market. The Grand Crus are priced around $300 Pre Arrival per bottle. Premier Crus are half that!
We are delighted to offer the 2014's from this well-known domaine. Make sure you check out the notes from Tim Atkin MW who has tasted finished wines. Tim describes Domaine Douhin-Laroze:  "A domaine that's on the up."

Drouhin-Laroze Beze Label
Tim Atkin MW: Some Clos de Bèze wines can be closed and unapproachable in their youth, but this isn't one of them. It's another complex, nuanced, all-too-drinkable Grand Cru from Caroline Drouhin. Fine tannins, notes of fresh tobacco and red cherry and strawberry fruit underscored by minerality. 2019-25. 96 Points

Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2014
Normally $343.50
Pre Arrival $291.95

Drouhin-Laroze Bonnes-Mares label
Tim Atkin MW: Sourced from a 1,5 hectare parcel of Bonnes Mares on red soils on the Morey side of the Grand Cru, this is another finely judged wine from Caroline Drouhin. Oak balance, sweet berry fruit, a hint of good reduction and textured, nuanced tannins. A domaine that's on the up. 2019-25. 95 Points
Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 2014

Pre Arrival $245.95

Drouhin-Laroze LatricieresTim Atkin MW: The change of generation in 2014 has resulted in a shift in style at this domaine, xith less evident extracton in the wines. This is a very attractive, perfumed Latricières with subtle, refined oak, spicy, succulent, red berry flavours, a lick of chalk and a lingering finish. 2019-25.

Castagnier 2012-2013 Dinner Header
Jerome Castagnier is producing wines of exceptional style and precision. Since he took over from his father in 2007 the quality has rocketed and today he is on all the critics watch list.

I have been telling you how good his wines are but we have had nothing in stock. Our 2012's and 2013's are almost here and I thought it would be a good opportunity to showcase these terrific Burgundies. You can see what all the fuss is about!

I have put together a dinner featuring 13 of Jerome's reds. They run the full gamut from Bourgogne to Grand Cru. For those of you partial to Grand Crus there are 6 different to try!

Whether you have never tried the wines of Domaine Castagnier or are already a fan this dinner is a must-attend event.
