Meursault Perrieres. Grand Cru quality, Premier Cru Price

If there is one Premier Cru white that merits elevation to Grand Cru status it would have to be Meursault Perrieres. This vineyard, long a favourite of Burgundy aficionados, is known for its minerality, line and precision.

We have a small parcel of Perrieres MAGNUMS from Domaine Michelot available. These wines, with a little bottle age, are incredible value. In fact these MAGNUMS are cheaper than 750ml bottles from many producers.
I have been drinking 2001's, 04's and 05's from my own cellar and they are terrific. These MAGNUMS are exceptional and are the perfect format for extended ageing.

Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres 2008
1500ml MAGNUM $270.00

Michelot Perrieres Label Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media: Deep yellow. Initially reticent stony, saline and smoky aromas gave way to butter and stone fruits with extended aeration. Complex and mineral-driven on the palate, with a dusty gingery spice quality and an impression of firm acidity. Broad, rich and dense wine with a long, tactile finish, but very young and in need of cellaring. In fact, this improved markedly with 48 hours in the recorked bottle92 Points

750ml bottles also available at $150.00

Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres 2009
1500ml MAGNUM $270.00

Michelot Perrieres Label
Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media: Bright pale yellow. Lemon oil, apple, menthol and wet stone on the nose. Supple and round on entry, then tighter in the middle, showing more menthol and crushed stone minerality than primary fruit today. Best now on the lingering, stony finish, which is quite smooth and avoids the heat of the vintage. 91 Points
Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres 2010
1500ml MAGNUM $290.00

Michelot Perrieres Label
Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media: Bright pale yellow. Ineffable perfume of lemon, crushed stone, lavender, violet and vanilla; a more exotic soft citrus quality emerges with aeration. Dense and stony yet weightless; at once tactile and seamless, with terrific energy to its lemon and crushed stone flavors. Most impressive today on the rising, dry, saline finish, which displays strong chewy minerality and terrific length.
