Domaine Pierre Damoy 2014 Pre Arrival Offer

Damoy 2014 PA Header
Superb wines from Gevrey's greatest vineyards...

I first tasted the 2010 Damoy wines at the domaine back in 2012 and was knocked out at the quality. At the time he had another importer so there was no business to be done. In March this year I had the pleasure of tasting the 2014's and this time Pierre was looking for a new importer.
So here we are!
It would be accurate to say that the last decade has seen a monumental rise in the quality of wines at Domaine Pierre Damoy. It is a return to the glory days of the 1950's and 1960's when their exceptional vineyard holdings produced some monumental reds.

Damoy Cabotte

Damoy are the largest owners of Chambertin Clos de Beze with an enormous 5.36 hectares. They have a large portion of Chapelle-Chambertin and half a hectare of Chambertin. The style is rich and powerful, in keeping with the fine pedigree of the vineyards.

Today we feature the three Grand Cru reds but also suggest you take a look at the full range on our website.
Damoy Beze Label Chambertin Clos de Beze 2014
Normally $699.00
Pre Arrival Price $594.00

Tim Atkin MW: The domaine's holdings of this Grand Cru are so extensive (5.36 hectares over four parcels) that it can afford to sell off much of its fruit and still make a wine as good as this. Concentrated, age worthy and with power in reserve, it's very rich, spicy and plush with lots of oak and the dark berry fruit to lap it up. 2022-32. 96 Points

Damoy Chambertin Label Chambertin 2014
Normally $699.00
Pre Arrival Price $594.00

Tim Atkin MW: Late picked and concentrated, this comes from a 0.47 hectare parcel right next to the Clos de Bèze. It's a big, brooding Chambertin with plenty of tannin and oak and dark, inky, blackberry and liquorice flavours, with some pepper spice from whole bunches. 2022-32. 96 Points

Damoy Chapelle Label Chapelle Chambertin 2014
Normally $599.00
Pre Arrival Price $509.00

Tim Atkin MW: Pierre Damoy has a stunning array of Gevrey Grands Crus, this 2.22 hectare parcel being one of them. This was a little marked by oak when I tasted at the domaine, but it has enough dense, smoky, palate-coating fruit to integrate in bottle. Firm, dense and built to last. 2020-28
. 96 Points

2014

2014 Burgundy

Not to be missed!

I have spent the last week in Burgundy tasting, tasting, tasting. Somewhere around 800 wines I think!

Most of the wines have been from the 2014 vintage and I can report that there are many exceptional wines.

2014 Chablis. The 2014 vintage is being extremely highly praised. I tasted a couple of hundred 2014's at the Grand Jous de Bourgogne and I can see what the hype is all about. If you love classic, mineral, acid Chablis these are a must. We have added a number of producers to our portfolio. To view what is currently on offer click here.

2014 White Burgundy. Some are calling it the vintage of a lifetime. I can tell you that the best wines are truly exceptional. Very pure and driven with wonderful acidity. Many domaines have sold out or allocated most of their production. If you love White Burgundy jump in. What we have left is not large and will not last. A few new wines to come but not a lot! Click here for current availability. Don't miss out!

2014 Red Burgundy. The critics have ensured that the 2014 reds have been overshadowed by the whites. However, they really are extremely good. They are not huge and tannic. The wines are deeply coloured and are very transparent with the terroir singing. They are quite pleasant in this early phase but need more time to blossom. I really like the vintage and have found some exciting new red producers to add to our portfolio. This is what is currently available. You won't be disappointed.
