A lovely selection of vineyards from Gevrey-Chambertin
The beginnings of Domaine Drouhin-Laroze date back to 1850 when Jean-Baptiste Laroze purchased the first vines in Gevrey-Chambertin. In 1919 Suzanne, his granddaughter married Alexandre Drouhin who owned vines in Chambolle-Musigny and the Domaine Drouhin-Laroze was created.
Drouhin-Laroze family
Today, the sixth generation is in charge of 11.5 hectares of vines spread across some prestigious sites in the Cote de Nuits including the Grand Crus Chambertin Clos de Beze, Bonnes-Mares, Clos Vougeot, Latriceres-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. There are also some very handy Premier Crus from Gevrey-Chambertin.
Drouhin-Laroze Bonnes-Mares Not only does the estate own some great vineyards but their wines are also very well priced in today's hot Burgundy market. The Grand Crus are priced around $300 Pre Arrival per bottle. Premier Crus are half that!
We are delighted to offer the 2014's from this well-known domaine. Make sure you check out the notes from Tim Atkin MW who has tasted finished wines. Tim describes Domaine Douhin-Laroze:  "A domaine that's on the up."

A seriously good vintage
Burghound says "As I observed at the very beginning of the 2014 vintage summary, the best wines are wonderfully refreshing, highly drinkable and transparent medium-bodied wines that possess solid but not aggressive tannic spines supplemented by sufficient but not high acidities. They are balanced wines built for medium-term aging yet should be reasonably approachable young if youthful fruit is your preference." "Two of the aspects that I like best about the 2014s is their transparency to the underlying terroir coupled with their sheer drinkability. This transparency is enhanced by terrific vibrancy because the wines really do taste alive in the mouth as they've got energy, or what I like to call underlying tension. They're ripe yet they are what the French call digest, or refreshing, where the first sip invites the next which is in fact what makes them so drinkable."
We have a terrific range of 2014 Red Burgundies available at all levels.
