Montee de Tonnerre - Chablis' top Premier Cru Vineyard
Only 6 Cases left

Montee de Tonnerre is so named as it was the hill to be crossed on the journey from Chablis to Tonnerre in bygone days. It was no simple feat.
The vineyard is south facing with well drained slopes which produce powerful, masculine wines. What is so great about Montee de Tonnerre is the backbone of the wines, with fragrance and the complexity of fruit supported by great minerality. Chapelot, a climat in Montee de Tonnerre, has claims for elevation to Grand Cru status.
We had a nice parcel of Montee de Tonnerre 2014 from Domaine Jean Collet available but are down to the last 6 cases. The wine is well reviewed and available at a most attractive price. Be quick, they won't last.

Tim Atkin MW:  Another excellent wine from Romain Collet, combining fruit from Chapelots and Montée de Tonnerre itself. Subtly oaked and refined, it shows the breed of this Premier Cru: plush, smooth and textured yet underpinned by vivid acidity and minerality. 2017-25. 94 Points
