Not all Villages wines are created the same. Some come from average sites and others, like this example from Henri Boillot, come from serious lieu-dits.
The 2012 Meursault Villages is a blend from arguably the four top Villages sites in the commune: Narvaux, Tillets, Clos du Cromin and Chevalieres. It is no wonder Tanzer describes the wine as "sexy" and Galloni calls it a "drop-dead beauty".
Boillot is one of the top White Burgundy makers and I feel sure that if this wine said 1er Cru on the label it would score even higher (if you know what I mean).
We have 30 bottles of this little gem in stock and if you love fine White Burgundy this is a wine you should grab, particularly at our special price.
Henri Boillot Meursault 2012
Antonio Galloni: Honey, tangerine and mint are some of the many notes that inform the 2012 Meursault. Rich and exotic in the glass, the 2012 is deep, explosive and layered to the core. I am not sure how the 2012 will age, but it is a drop-dead beauty today and should deliver considerable pleasure for at least a handful of years. The Meursault is a blend of fruit tom Vireuils, Tillets, Clos du Cromin and Chevalières, all parcels bottled separately by a number of growers. 90-92 Points
