Outstanding Chateauneuf-du-Pape from three cuvees...
Domaine de la Vieille Julienne was acquired by the Daumen family in 1905. It is a small domaine of just 10.5 hectares with several vineyard sites in the north of Chateauneuf-du-Pape in the lieux-dits of Cabrieres, Maucoil and Boislauzon. Almost half of the vineyards are a century old.
Biodynamic practices are used and yields are very low at around 20 hl/ha. The wines are made traditionally and bottled without fining or filtering.
We are delighted to have Domaine de la Vieilles Julienne in our portfolio. It adds to an already strong array of hand selected high-quality Rhone producers.
The current vintage is 2012 but to mark our appointment the domaine has offered a selection of earlier vintages going back to 2003. We also have some of the exceptional and very rare Cuvee Reserve. If you are a Chateauenuf-du-Pape fan you must seriously consider these wines.

Jeb Dunnuck: While I normally find the Les Hauts Lieux more compelling, in this vintage I prefer the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Trois Sources. Gorgeously perfumed and voluptuous, with fabulous blackberry, licorice, citron, salty minerality and hints of violet, this beauty flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness, building tannin and terrific length. The texture here is brilliant, and while it will benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar, this puppy is hard to resist now. 94 Points
