Domaine Rouge-Bleu was founded in 2006. Part of a 400 year old Provencal farm, the property included 8 hectares of old vines - Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.

Rouge-Bleu Mistral 2011 Review A couple of years ago the domaine was purchased by Caroline Jones and her partner Thomas Bertrand. Caroline is from Western Australia and Thomas is from the Vosges mountains in France. They have continued the tradition begun by Jean-Marc Espinnase including organic practices in the vineyards.

Caroline and Thomas were delighted to receive an exceptional review from the Houston Chronicle for the 2011 Mistral. The review is reproduced alongside (click the image to enlarge).

Crouzau Label

Another Cotes-du-Rhone worth a look

Actually quite a superior bottling - this is a Cotes-du-Rhone Villages from St Gervais.

Jeb Dunnuck, The Rhone Report

Easily the most dense and structured, the 2009 Foncalieu Côtes du Rhône Villages St. Gervais La Réserve du Crouzau, coming from west of the Rhône river and a slightly cooler terroir, starts out reserved and tight, yet opens in the glass with deep black fruits, leafy herbs, damp earth, roasted meats, and solid minerality all developing. Medium-bodied and well built on the palate, with a firm, edgy texture, good mid-palate concentration, and a fair dose of savory tannin, this excellent Rhône blend will reward 1-2 years of bottle age, and have upwards of 4-6 years of longevity.

Only 6 Cases left.
