Last night's Domaine Castagnier Dinner at Noir showed just what great wines Jerome Castagnier is producing.
From the Puligny-Montrachet Villages to the Clos Vougeot Grand Cru all of the wines showed typicity and a wealth of great Burgundy flavours.
In 2007 Jerome Castagnier took over from his father Guy and like so many of these generational changes in Burgundy the quality of the wines from this small domaine has soared.
Today's Castagnier red wines are deeply coloured with vibrant, sappy fruit. They capture the essence of their appellations and with a bevy of old vines they have depth and texture. They are charming with delicious flavours.
After the dinner we have just a handful of bottles of some of the 2011's available. For the next few days we offer these wines at a 15% discount. Those of you who missed out first time around can take advantage of these great prices. Where else can you buy Grand Crus from the Cote de Nuits at just $157.25?
Here's what is available:
Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru $157.25
Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru $177.65
Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru $382.50
