Aged Burgundy direct from the cellars of Chevillon-Chezeaux. Almost Gone!‏

Chevillon-Chezeaux Aged Burgundy

4 Offers featuring Premier Crus back to 1996!

We have recently received our allocation of the 2013 Burgundies from Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux. At the same time Philippe offered me another small parcel of back vintages.

There are some neat wines, albeit in tiny quantities.

The wines have never moved since bottling and as we all know there is nothing like Burgundy that has been aged in the cold, dark cellars of the domaine.

Chevillon-Chezeaux Les St Georges We have four different offers including some Rare Magnums and from the 1990's and some aged Nuits-St-Georges Blanc!

Prices are terrific - the wines are very similar in price to the current releases!

However, quantities available are tiny so you'll need to act quickly as most wines are very close to selling out.

To read more about the wines and order on our website click here. Offers of old Burgundy direct from the domaine are becoming rarer as time goes on. Don't miss this opportunity.

You may also order by phone or by email to asaf.gordon@grandmillesime.com.au.

Extraordinary old fortified

Remarkable Sweet Wines from the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's

The vin doux naturel wines of Southwest France are quite unique. Similar to Port they are fortified with neutral grape spirit to stop fermentation and thus retain some naturally occurring sugar. The alcohol content is typically somewhere between 15% and 20% and the wines drink more like an aged fortified desert wine.

The wines spend some time in oak during which they gain character and complexity and then are transferred to demi-muids, foudres or demijohns for long storage.

At 40, 50 years of age they are wines of great majesty, full of fig, raisin, dried flowers, citrus, nuts, and other intriguing aromas and flavours. The alcohol and sugar ensure that wines age for decades.

The amazing thing is their low price. The wines typically sell for between $250 and $500 a bottle - even if they are over 50 years old. That is remarkable for the time and effort put into making and storing them.

Unfortunately, we don't have notes for all of the wines but vin doux naturel wines are regarded as almost indestructible! These wines are now in their drinking window.

We have a small selection of these Rare and Interesting wines in stock. If you are intrigued or would simply like to try a very old French wine, here is your opportunity to do so at a great price. Click here to see what is available.
