Classic Villages Burgundy - Just $70.00 a Bottle by the Case!‏

Castagnier Villages Header
Top Villages Red Burgundy for as little as $70.00 a Bottle

The great communes of the Cote de Nuits produce wines of real interest at Villages level.

Each commune has its own character - whether it be the earth, mineral and power of Gevrey-Chambertin, the brooding dark fruit of Morey-St-Denis or the sensuous, laciness of Chambolle-Musigny.

Few domaines boast a range of quality Villages wines like Domaine Castagnier who has all three of the communes above.

Our 2011's are enroute from France and will arrive in a month's time. We still have reasonable quantities of these 3 Top Villages wines available.

There are 47 bottles of Gevrey-Chambertin, 34 bottles of Morey-St-Denis and 39 bottles of Chambolle-Musigny.

What is special about these wines is that they are from very old vines (for instance the Chambolle vineyard was planted way back in 1934!). This gives great richness and intensity. In fact, the Morey-St-Denis is mostly from the 1er Cru vineyard Aux Chezeaux but as the domaine's parcel is so small (0.2 ha) the production is blended to make this outstanding Villages wine.

As usual we offer these wines at a Pre Arrival discount of less 15%. If you buy a complete case of a single wine we will increase this discount to 20%.
