Red and White of Unusual Interest
The Beaune vineyard Clos des Mouches is rather unusual in a number of ways.
It is one of the few sites in Burgundy that produces Red and White wine of quality. And unlike most of Beaune the reputation is largely built of the quality and ageability of the whites.
The name translates as "honey bees" and has become famous over the decades due to the success of Drouhin's wines from this prime climat.
It is quite a large vineyard (25.18 hectares) and despite being located on the Pommard border it produces wines of unusual finesse. This is due to the slope of the land and the presence of more sand than across the border which ensures excellent drainage.
Domaine Berthelemot produce both a red and white from Clos des Mouches.
If you are not familiar with the vineyard I urge you to take a look. For a limited time we offer both the Red and White from the lovely 2012 vintage at special prices which are the same as our Pre Arrival Prices.
