Morey-Coffinet Batard-Montrachet 2012. Outscores Domaine Leflaive Again!‏

Morey-Coffinet Batard 2012 Header
Once again Morey-Coffinet's Batard-Montrachet outscores Domaine Leflaive

For lovers of Grand Cru Whilte Burgundy we have a wine for you.

Morey-Coffinet 2012 Batard Label Once again it is Morey-Coffinet who consistently out-score the big names. The Morey-Coffinet Batard-Montrachet 2012 has been scored 94 Points by Burghound. On the other hand the better known Domaine Leflaive Batard-Montrachet 2012 was scored 92-95.The Morey-Coffinet Batard was equal top wine of the vintage alongside Sauzet, Maltroye and Boillot. That's great company!

Burghound: (from a .13 ha parcel of vines planted in 1996 located on the Chassagne side). Compared to the rest of the range, this is really quite reserved, indeed to the point of being backward and inexpressive with only hints of brioche, citrus, white flower and yellow orchard fruit aromas. There is good volume and outstanding intensity to the tension-filled and impressively concentrated big-bodied flavors that possess superb complexity and length on the almost painfully intense finish. This is presently quite linear and like the Blanchots it will need time to flesh out but it should be terrific in time. Don't Miss! 94 Points

And once again the price is a big consideration. We offer the Morey-Coffinet Batard-Montrachet 2012 at a Pre Arrival Price of $335.00 - that's way lower than any of the equally ranked wines or the Leflaive.

If you love White Burgundy you should add some of this wine to your cellar. It is consistently one of the top Batards of the vintage.

Domaine Paul Pernot is, by Burgundian standards, quite large at 20 hectares. The best wines are domaine bottled but much of the production is under contract to negociants (particularly Maison Joseph Drouhin).

The 2012's have received excellent reviews and we are delighted to offer a range up to the Grand Crus Batard-Montrachet and Bienveunes-Batard-Montrachet.

The 2012 Pernot's are already in stock.
