Extraordinary Value! Grand Cru Red Burgundy from 2010 - Just $127.50 a Bottle by the Case

Maillard Extraordinary Header

Serious Corton Grand Cru Red Burgundy from 2010 - just $127.50 a bottle by the unbroken Case!

That's Cheaper than most Premier Crus!

Domaine Maillard Père et Fils was established in 1766. Today, the domaine comprises 18 hectares in seven communes. Pascal Maillard looks after the marketing and winemaking. His brother, Alain Maillard, is in charge of operations in the vineyards. They are are the tenth generation of the Maillard family.

Our 2010's have arrived and am delighted to say that are even better than I remembered. They are classically styled wines with oodles of precision and character.

At the top of the tree is the Corton Renardes Grand Cru. I have tasted the wine again since its arrival and I am delighted that it looks every bit as good as the wine that impressed me at the Grand Jours de Bourgogne some time ago.

Domaine Maillard is a new name for Australia - another of those little gems I have discovered. It is not reviewed by the big-name US wine scribes and that means the value for money is terrific.

I'd like everyone to try their wines so for the new few days I have but two gems on special at our Pre Arrival Prices. Stocks are low - we have just 69 bottles of Corton Renardes remaining and a mere 29 bottles of the Beaune alongside left. You'll need to act quickly!

Corton Renardes Grand Cru 2010

Case of 12 Bottles Pre Arrival $1530.00 (=$127.50 a bottle)

Maillard Corton Renardes label From 4 parcels in Renardes. Vine age 25-50 years. 70% new oak.

The outstanding red of this cellar. Lively nose with a hint of Renardes funk. The wine explodes in the mouth; liquorice, tar, animale and a little earth. Considerable fine grained tannins and a very persistant finish. Great Corton, great 2010 Red Burgundy.

Trust me, this is top shelf Corton. The note above was written when I tasted the wine in the cellars a year ago. My tasting note from a couple of weeks ago is virtually identical!

To view the wine and order on line click here. I can't stress enough what great value this wine is. You will not see Grand Crus of this quality at anywhere near this price again!

The domaine also has reds from Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune, Chorey-les-Beaune and Volnay.

And a Quality 2010 Beaune Rouge at a Loveable Price

40% new oak shows just how serious they are about making a Beaune of quality, even at Villages level. Another vibrant wine. Medium colour. From a single, and quite special, parcel of 50 year old vines. Cherry and cherry pits, elegant but with nice depth of flavour from the old vines. Classic style Beaune finish with fine, detailed tannins, and easily capable of 5-10 years in the cellar which will see the wine blossom.

That is the note I wrote over a year ago and it is just as the wines tasted last week.

Normally $65.00
Special $55.25

Only 29 Bottles Left! Super Drinking.
