Roy Hersh's For the Love of Port
A memorable youngster with a dark, inky hue. Lifted aromas of violet and lilac flowers, essence of grape, dominant cassis and vanilla bean. This is a deeply extracted and huge young Port that is brawny and potent. There's a bright future ahead as this will be great at the half century mark, with powerful tannins that bring it front and center. Plenty of acidity and vibrancy to go along with the ripe blackberry pie flavor. I had forgotten how gorgeous this Port is and I was glad to have a couple of glasses to remind me. Not for the meek.
